Bee a rough year around here but think I’m settling back down. Put a beach umbrella out on the side yard for some shade and feels good to do some knapping again.
Made an Osage bow for a buddy up in Ohio and some bamboo arrows. He is a hunter and a fine shot, so sending some points to him.

Little cleanup on that one. That umbrella is key!
-
Beautiful points as always Parnell! I feel like I can tell which points are yours just by the style!
-
Ha! Yeah, I was thinking that today myself! Need to work on some diversity, I think.
Thanks DH. Hope you’ve been well.
Some clean up work on one of them.
-
Great looking points, Steve. Yea, you have your own style point, now.
-
Nice points Steve. I really like the one in the center. Looks like a killer to me.
Thanks for sharing them. It’s good to see some posts here again. I’m pretty busy farming yet, but hopefully in another couple months I can get back at it.

Very NIce Sir!

Hey Ben, sorry this is delayed hope you have been well!
Quick little flake point today.
-
Very nice looking point Parnell. What kind of rock is that, sure is purdy.
-
Man Parny! All those points are looking great! Your weather looks nice too! We are supposed to get storms starting Monday through next weekend.... we shall see what actually hits the ground.
-
MM- That was a kinda curved flake of Flint Ridge from Roy Miller. Just the small hand flaker gently.
I was thinking about something that really helped me with delicate flaking. Try a fishhook!
Heya Ben! We are getting some very much needed rain. Last summer was the least rain I’ve seen here in 21 years!
-
Still planning on getting some of that flint ridge Parnell. I’m going down there in spring. When I do I’ll probably reach out to Roy Miller and see if he’s still selling some rock. I’ve watched some of his videos quarrying rock on his quarry. Also some of his knapping videos. That stuff is pretty.
-
Sweet point Steve. That one looks really pretty and really nasty at the same time.

Thanks Brian, yeah that material reminds me of summer sunset down here.
Got a little 44 grain Georgetown bird point this afternoon. The weather is immaculate today.
-
Another with the light
-
I really like the base shape of that Flint ridge point
-
Thanks Allyn. I finished its sister piece today. They were once…together! Ha
-
Those are really sweet points Steve and that bird point would certainly be up to taking pretty much anything you wanted. They both look very deadly

Cool and overcast days lately. Got this one. Flint River 135 grains.
-
Very nice.
The first rock I ever bought was flint river. Looked just like that. Butterscotch. Nice stuff
Glad you have some nice weather.

Looks nice and sharp

I like the material, especially seeing the little bits that settled in the layer however long ago before it silicified. I wonder how long ago this stuff formed? I find sometimes the pieces have wonky texture though. Do like that candy butterscotch color and texture.
-
beautiful point!

Awesome point. It does look like butterscotch. Very cool.
