Title: Spining shoot shafts
Post by: Piddler on January 08, 2024, 07:52:30 pm
Folks, Where do you take spine readings on shoot shafts where one end is smaller than the either.
Thanks,
Piddler

Just like any other arrow shaft I place the nock end of a shoot shaft to the right on the spine tester and hang the weight in the middle of the shaft on the tester.

Forgot to mention that my spine tester is an Ace model 203 so it only measures one side.

Will you post a pic of the tester with an arrow on it?

Pat, Here are three photos. Photo quality is not so good. As you can see when the big end is placed in the brackets it reads about #70, Small end about #35 and in the middle about #50. I'm guessing use the middle??.
PS Pat you may recognize the cane.
Thanks
