Hey gang! I’m looking for a Russian olive wood stave for a specific project. Please let me know if anyone has access to any or has some. I would be willing to trade or whatever. Let me know. Thanks.

Interesting.
I have long wanted to try Russian olive, but I have yet to find anything even straight enough for billets. But I will keep an eye out for something for you, sir.

Oh from Canada! Well that's close to me, but international. I'm in ND. I could probably find a stave for you. What size are you looking for?

Great white north! That would be awesome pierce. I’m looking for a stave about 70” long and about 2” wide. I’m in Eastern Ontario area. Let me know if you can find something. Thanks again!

I found this... it definitely can make a bow and it's as straight as I could find so far. For the most part russian olive doesn't grow very thick.
This one is pretty long, I don't have a tape measure right now but it's about 8' to 9' I'd say. And probably 3" to 4" wide.

It has a good amount of knots so it would definitely be a character bow unless you decrown and add a backing.
Let me know if you want it!
