Many of you know Derik Gratz, a.k.a. dpgratz from in here and from the Tennessee Classic.
His son and a couple friends jumped in a vehicle and took of on a boys road trip west. They wee passing through South Dakota and I told Derik to order them to get in touch with me. Well, they landed in the Black Hills and texted me. Dang kids don't know how to make a simple phone call. I asked if they had found a campsite or campground yet because I could definitely help them in that department. Turns out they had already found the first campground I had on my list.
We're talking about plans, I wanna take them fishing for some of those whopper rainbow trout while they are in the area, and I definitely want to take the boys to one of my favorite restaurants, the Alpine Inn. The Alpine was opened during the gold rush in the 1880's and has been continuously in operation ever since. The dinner menu is pretty simple: what size filet mignon and how do you want it? Growing boys out to like this, right?
I am super jazzed to meet them and I want to remind all of you that if you ever come through the Black Hills you HAVE to hit me up. I mean it. This community means a great deal to me and I feel kinship to everyone of you.
I'll post more when I have some pics and stuff.
