My 1st attempt at flipped tips. Osage 67”, right now about 43#@24”. Going for 44/45# a28”. Brace height at this point is right at 4-3/4”. After being strung for an hour while working on it, both limbs are showing 1/2” set on outer 1/3rds. After sitting for a while that set reduces to about 1/4”. The right limb is the top limb, and had a kink from back to belly where it’s circled in yellow on unstrung profile. I heated that area with heat gun and got 95% of that kink out.
Should I quit tillering outer 1/3rds completely, and finish the rest of the tillering on the mid and inner limbs?

This looks like it is a perfect question for Arvin. It does look like a nice shooter once you get it tillered. :OK

I’m curious too. That seems to be where I take set and how it acts when I get it too.
I usually don’t seem to get it till I’m finished and shooting them, but I have wondered if I should leave a little more wood there.
I don’t think it hurts performance as much there as in the inners.
The strange thing is my full draw pictures always look stiff there.

I should add that it’s 1-1/2” wide at the fades, straight tapered to 1” until the last 7”, from there it tapers to 3/8” tips.
