My son has really taken an interest in my self bow making - not to the point that he wants to do it himself, but he really thinks its cool that I do.
He asked me if I could make him a bow and some primitive arrows to hang on the wall as a display, with the bow strung. So, I know if I string a self bow and leave it that way for the foreseeable future the bow is going to be toast. But, will it stay in the strung state and look OK on the wall indefinitely, or will the limbs continue to weaken, with more and more set and take on a weird shape? I have a bow that came in way under weight and not my best effort, but it has a good shape that would be a good candidate. Any suggestions?

I’m thinking it would probably hold the braced shape but I’m not positive.
I have never tried it. I did make my grandson a bow. One time when he came to visit he brought it to shoot with me. I could tell before I even tried to string it. It was left on display strung and it had zero cast.
Honestly if someone wanted one just to display in a strung profile. I think instead of spending a lot of time tillering I might try using heat and a caul to shape the braced profile.
I’d probably try to talk him into displaying a tillered bow unstrung though instead

Ive put a braced bow from a nail by the string for a year. The string went slack from set and the weight of the bow on it.

Put a braced curve in the bow with heat. That way it should keep that shape because it is not being strained.
