Title: Bill Metcalfe of Killeen TX
Post by: tom sawyer on July 08, 2008, 07:20:30 pm
Just learned Mr. Metcalfe passed away on July 1.  He was a pretty darned good knapper, a showman and a real nice guy.  He attended every MOJAM I went to and was a big part of the how-to's as well as donating some excellent points to the charity auctions.  He'll certainly be missed.

Yes, Bill died July 1st. To compound this event his wife died June 1st.

His friends are having a celebration of his life on Saturday, August 2, 2008. This will be held at the Retired Sgt's Park on the Lampasas River in Maxdale TX.

The park (also known as Chili Park) is on FMR2670 about 4 miles west of TX195.

Bring your tools, rock and Bill Metcalfe stories.

I have one of Bill's tapes, using the wand percusser.  He was really good.  There is a profile of him in the latest CHIPS magazine.  He will be missed by the primitive arts community.
