Jeesh! Manny your bows are getting nicer and nicer each time you post them. Each time I see them I get more and more ideas for bows to build. I like'em! Still trying to get to that stave of Guava you sent me. Are you using any kind of stain on the wood or is that the natural color?
-
Nice bow Manny. 8)
-
They better get nicer David, .....that's what's happens when you're learning. ;)
the colour is all natural Guava, just finished with my homemade mix of Beeswax/paraffin/linseed oil, all boiled together.
-
Can you let me know the formula? Thats just pure purdy! Would love to put that on my Guave Warbow when I actually start making it and get it finnished! That may be sometime in the next ten years the way I'm going. ;D
-
Beautiful bow Manny!
-
about 45% beeswax, 45% paraffin, 10% linseed oil, all melted together, than it gets hard and you can cut it into bars, ...... apply it with a heat gun on the bow
-
Incredible bow Manny!!! 8)
-
Thanks Manny! I will make up some and try it out.
So you just rub a chunk against the bow and then run the heat gun over it?
-
damn your bows always make me envious
that is one beautiful wood you got there, you lucky son of a buck.
yup one of these years the wife and i are going to make it to the islands, when we do i'm gonna have to get some of that stuff.
keep up the great work, you like others on here inspire me.
peace,
tim

I gotta make some of that finish when I get the time..It looks great! That is such a pretty piece, and I bet you had to wonder about covering the spalting on the grip section..
I knew a before we before we ever talked you would be bringing a lot to this craft, and this is a fine example..very nice ;D

Manny - Beautiful bow. I have the same blanket and just need the bow to make the set! I really like what you did with the back and the natural beauty of the Guava can't be beat. I can't honestly say whether I like the bow photos or the pig photos the best, but I know I alway click on the NOMADIC PIRATE posts first....
Thanks!
Keith
