If you can hit the target :). Spent several hours walking the sunflower patches flushing the birdies, probably about 40 to 50 missed opportunities (not by much though) then I finally connected ;D. A flush, a snap shot, a satisfying thump, and puff of feathers - now that's something to tell the grandkids about 8) ;D.

If you find you have too many birds you can always pack em in dry ice and send them my way! ;D
Nice shoot'en Tex.!

Congradulations. Now go shoot enough for a meal.
-
nice sir...thats awesome...i hope to do the same...sweeeeet.
-
great shooting, i'd spend all my time hunting arrows instead of birds..lol- Ryan
-
Thanks fallers ;D. Yeah, right madcrow - shoot enough for a meal? Pappy was right - hope you ain't hungry ;D. That was fun and I might actually try it some more, just cause - but will most likely break out the modern huntin equip for a mess of em ;D.
Actually, that's darn good practice for aiming small - deer better look out ;).
Thanks Ryan! Those red arra's with the flu-flu fletching really stand out in the weeds, don't think I could loose one if I tried - well prolly could, but they were easy to find :).
-
Thanks, D! I'm sure I'll have a surplus and will send them your way ::).
-
Holly Cow that is impressive. Justin
-
Awesome Cowboy, That must have been a very gratifying moment after all the hard work makin' them arras and the bow. Nice job.
John
-
It certainly was John. I did a little victory dance out there in that field as soon as I realized what had just happened ;D.
-
Nice job my man!!!
-
Way to go Paul, nice to be able to go for a walk and get 40 or so shots in a short time :)
I wish partridge were so abundant :(
-
Way to go Cowboy! As the old Cherokee Indian said in the "Outlaw Josie Wells"..."Endeavor to Persevere!"... ;D You certainly did that! ;)
-
And by endurance - I conquered ;D.
-
That's incredible! Great shooting Cowboy.

Good shooting Cowbow. I hit the first dove I ever shot at with a Remington Auto but haven't hit another since. ;D I found out when shooting flying targets(discs) that the more you shoot, the more you hit. So keep it up. Pat
-
Good shooting Paul. Just to get one and said you did it would be fun.
-
Thanks all. I'm not so sure it was good shooting any more than it was good luck - but I was making most of em duck and dodge there after awhile.
That's it Eddie - I got one under my belt, so now I can say that I did. That ain't something you see every day :).
-
That's it! By the way, I work with engineers and they say there is no such thing as luck. ;)
-
Congrats Cowboy, sounds like lots of fun. Doves have always been about my favorite for hunting and eating. Sounds like there must be plenty. Kenneth
-
Their was plenty that particular day Kenneth. Being migratory they come and go - Like Otoe bow "Mike" said - a target rich environment :).
-
Ok, now I have no excuse come Sep 1st. Dove season will be open and you're proof that it can be done. Great shootin' Cowboy.
-
I always thought archery started a week prior to gun ;D. Just didn't want to be out there during WWIII - god luck Ranger :)!
-
Nice shootin Paul! ;D I bet that 60#er put a hurtin on that little dove....lol.
-
dang! good shooting, some guys hunt pesant with a bow, but thats like shooting a bus ;D(I hvent tried it with a bow, ill kep my mouth shut) a dove-im sure that took ya a cuple of hours- thats a real nice bow too! good luck, -jimmy
-
Wow :o...I have trouble hittin' em with a shotgun.
-
Hi dude you know if you can even hit a dove you should be merderous on pheasand or grouse.Nice shootin Ronnie
-
Paul, thats fantastic. I like your style. I have yet to shoot at anything on the wing but it is a goal of mine. Rabbit hunting too. I hope by next year I am set up to give it a go. I think one of the things I will work on this winter is shooting some arial targets just to get sharpened up. I've heard tell of other guys being succesful with it and I kinda figure if they can do it so can I. It just takes practice. Matter fact I may even try and organize a few fellas getting togther next year and give it a go. I would think it would be a blast with more than one person involved. Danny
-
Thanks Ronnie, maybe one day I'll give pheasants a try.
Danny - them things are harder to hit than one might think. You can miss awfully close all day, then when ya connect it kinda throws ya into shock for a second ;D.
-
I've been told I'm an electric kinda guy. Can't wait to get shocked...lol Danny
-
good job partner now all you need is bacon and a jalapeno
-
That's the way I like em ricochet :).
