I'm looking for a source for an authentic linen or hemp string for a warbow. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Do you want to make it yourself or are you looking to have one made?
Here is one way that I do it:

That is a timber hitch on each side with a linen string that has reinforced ends. Its pretty easy to make. Or you can do the more conventional loops. Whats the weight of your bow?

I was kinda hoping to make myself a string, if possible. Where do you get suitable linen for string making? My bow is 80#, 74" NTN, horn nocks.

This is where I get mine:

I have tested it on bows up to 100# with no troubles. You need to reinforce the nock area with extra linen strands fr strenght.

Steve,
Can you tell me the string diameter? I mean the individual strand from the spool if possible.
How many strands do you use for your 100# bow?
Also, is there anything wrong with the 8 ply string other than you get less material?
I think it might be worth it when considering how much stronger it is.

Thanks, Steve
Much appreciated!

It seems like the stuff with bees wax might be good for bowstrings too? Has anyone tried that?

The pyro linen used to be good but the last batch I got would not be good enough for a heavy weight bow

Hey, Marc
Where are you purchasing your linen?
