Title: splice???

what is a z splice,

   i read something about that on the sneak peak yew thread... and then some body told me on my need help on stave thread about stave to short you can always splice two billets or something like that...

what is a billet??? and what is a splice or z splice???

i know ya'l must think im nuts for not knowing this, but sorry i really dont....

I would suggest also that you get vol. 1 of the Traditional Bowyer's Bible and read through it-lots of good general info in there on cutting and seasoning wood, tillering, splices, arrow making, etc. It's the best $20 bill you'll ever spend if you're interested in primitive archery.
