Walked to stand straight west of house with flashlight this morning. Wasn't there 5 minutes and had deer <10 yards on trail coming from bean field. Really dark and could barely make out shape. Think it was a buck but couldn't see antlers. He circled up wind 20- 25 yards away and left down hill. Minutes later had another deer go south. Also had deer go through bean field into woods to the south. Later in good light saw 2 fawns in woods to the west.... 50 yards.
About 8:30 had 1 1/2 year old buck in bean field. Bleated with "lil can" and he came down trail. At <10 yards I was on him at full draw and had the spot picked but felt tip of bow touching tree or stand and I moved just a little to give bow clearance and deer bolted. I was a nano second from releasing!!!
Fun morning!!! I like that area!!

Man your doin better than me. I went the other morning and fell and landed on my back/quiver. Made an awful lot of noise and spooked three does in the process. Them deer was laughin their tails off. :)

Well, I missed one today at 10 yds. Blew up a perfectly nice Kirk Corner Notched! Keep at it!
