Post by: agd68 on November 17, 2008, 02:48:24 pm
Can anyone give me some dimensions fr a pyramid bow , looking at maple board 68" long x 3/4" thick. Hoping to get 45-50#. Is this realistic ?

The length is fine the weight is OK. I would put the fades at 2" wide tapper down to 3/4 nocks. Build up the riser 1&3/4 thick and taper down to the 2" wide fades. having the fades this wide will hopefully help prevent the riser from popping off. I do wish you had a thicker board. Good luck

I'd make it 2"-2 1/4" at the fades, taper it down to 3/8" wide at the nocks. Leave it the full 3/4" thick under the fades/riser, and make your thickness start at about 5/8" thick at the fades. This will give you a 1/8" thicker portion to glue your riser to, hopefully keep it from popping off. You might try glueing on a riser made up of a few thin pieces instead of one thick one, building it up to 1 1/2" or so.
