well lately weve been so cold,we try and stay inside and just keep moving.thats inside ya gotta keep moving to keep warm.
so cold lately ,i even seen a dog frozen to a fire hydrant.

we hit zero for the first time in decades.The pellet stove is suckin' down bag after bag. we were at 25 or so, kept warm by helpin my buddy get some hickory and sassafras from the recent powerline cuts. My chainsaw died, man I suck with an axe...... ;D

Well, here in New England last night I looked at the thermometer and it read O! So I decided to stop lookin' at thermometers.

It's so cold here in NW Penna. we have to put jumper cables on the beagles to get a rabbit started. It,s been -10 deg last to mornings. Tonight its warmed up to about 14 an now it's starting to snow again, I talked to boro snowplower an he said we already have 140" of snow for the season an we still got 3months to go. Later Bob

Good looking Hernando! It's been pretty cold here too-3 degrees Friday morning, 5 yesterday. It's back up in the balmy 30's today. That Briar Creek is some nice looking stuff, never tried it. I like most of the varieties of CP I've tried, Flint River is some of my favorite rock.

Two nights ago it was only 27 below zero up here in St. Albans Maine. This week end it could get down to 40 below in some areas. Today was great!!! it was a spring like 20 above, for a while.

we just got a heat wave. 58 degrees for a high. Man it was nice. It has been in the teens for highs the last couple weeks. Went out today and burned a couple hundred rounds since it was so nice out.

It's so cold here the politicians have their hands in their own pockets. It's 0 right now , but is suppose to drop to -10 tomorrow.

Yeah...My dad even said that the Ice is thin to nonexistent on the Great Lady ( Githigummee...Lake Superior for you Suthiners!!) this Winter so far....and everyone thinks that since I live in Texas....We have warm Winters....well I bought my first set of Black Lined Carharts after I moved here....never seen cold like this....it's the Wind that gets you more than anything here...lived on the North Slope and it wasn't as bad as some days here....ain't nothing finer than a -12 morning ...with a 60mph wind blowing to boot!!! Seen quite a Few of thesee Days here in the past Winters....One Year We had Herfords frozen to death in the Corners of Fenced off Pastures....all huddled together for Warmth...and the outside head were all frozen solid ....now thats cold.....

thats the kinda weather we are supposed to get for winter
thats what i remember as a kid,havents seen that in years.
geats warmer and less snow every year.we finally got our first real snow of thear,you can see it still
maybe about .10" and its aleardy december.we should of had atleast 9" by now i think is what they said.
heck i have even been seeing the real hardcore riders out on their scoots yet too
waaaay too cold for me brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That cold front finally pass, so we are cold here, forecast high of 71, that's okay it's supposed to be back in the mid 80's by Tuesday. >:D

Yep, swampbow, still sitting here in shorts and barefooted with the AC on. ;D Just planted the garden two weeks ago and the pineapples are looking good.

Ice just started forming on the little lakes the last few days, forcast is for cold nights so hoping to be ice fishin next weekend :)
Have the rest of the week to try and get a deer with the muzzleloader den its ice fishin time :)

you still ice fish,WOW ya know modern refrigerators have this thing called an "auto ice maker"
no need to go catch that nasty gamey tasting wild ice ;D ;D ;)
lived here all my life and never got into ise fishing,i hate the sound of ice cracking around me.makes me very anxious and excitable

Tin yer missing out on some good times if yer properly equiped :) I quit ice fishin because it got to be too much work but I bought a quad a to pull the portable shack,
gas auger and the wife :D Also bought a Marcum flasher and Ice Armor suit so I'm all set, nothing better than fresh perch, walleye or bluegills from frozen water mmmmmmm tasty :)

but i still cant get past the sound of all that ice poping
scares the bejeezes out of me when i am out there
guess i just need to take more liquid refreshment with to help forget about it ;)
and a radio to cover up the sound of the ice

man i love that type of weather
we usualy see about 10-12 days a year that warm.this last year we only got above 90 like 5 times
i really belong in a much warmer climate ;D

i don't mind the heat. infact i quite like it. the humidity gets a bit much though. they call it 'silly season' and 'suicide season' for a reason... hardly bareable at times. fishing will come good soon though when the rain brings on the fresh water.

Tim...you surely would not have liked to do what We used to do when I was racing Stock Cars back in the 70's then.....We used to have my Dad and a couple others Plow the Snow off of the Ice on the Lower harbor in Marquette...on Lake Superior...they would plow an Oval Track....and we Would put Studded Snow Tires on our Roundy-Round Cars....and race them on the Lake!! But then We would also race Our Snowmobiles in the Water in the Summer too........talk about getting the full Years use out of a Play Toy!!!
And Dana....I didn't know a Yooper would throw away 400 bucks on a Fish Finder to go get drunk in a Fishing Shanty.... >:D
Otis....you can keep them 100's....I see enough in the Summer for a Lifetime........ ;)

I have noticed the amount of post in the flintknapping section have really slowed down. Guess it's just to cold out to chip rock.

It`s about 34 F here, but my basement`s never too cold to chip in.
The other 1/2`s figured out not to go down there barefoot tho...
There`s a pile of debitage 8" deep around the base of my knapping stool.
I did learn that it`s easier to put a tarp down & flip it back to the stool
every now & then than it is to find the broom on a daily basis ;D
sometimes it`s in the kitchen or the front porch, the back porch, wherever.
And before someone suggests it, I know that I could buy a broom for the
knapping area, but then I`d have to clean it up more often than once or
twice a week ;)

16 right now with a Wind Chill of -18....and it's only going to get colder for the rest of the Night!! One of the City Water Mains broke about 5 hours ago....can you imagine working in a Lake of Water in these temperatures?? I am glad I am a Crane Operator!!

Supposed to be a high of 27 in Tulsa OK today. It's a nice cold though, If I close my eyes it's kind of like walking out in the snow at night, that crisp sort of cold.

Woke up to -4 degrees.....wind Chill of -26.....It's up to 8 degrees right now....My Koi Pond is Solid....the Waterfall was two foot thick....Most of the Pond water was Froze....and there was two foot of Air under the Ice....Almost lost all of My Koi due to the Lack of Water....When the Falls froze up....the Pumps kept pumping the Water up...and overflowing the Filters....been outside all Morning trying to thaw out Hoses to fill it back up again...ain't got anything else to do....since they called Work for the Second Day in a Row....and Tomorrow is supposed to be just as bad....maybe even Colder...I don't know what these People would do if they had to do Construction back in Michigan....I guess that They would go Bankrupt........ ::)

Mike we got about 14" of snow yesterday as for constuction in cold weather they keep on building, of course the contractors are set up for it.

I know that they keep Building....Thats what I did back Home too....Must be a Different Breed now a Days....all Sissified...can't work in the Cold!! Actually it has all come down to Corporate Liability...They are afraid that if They Work You...and Someone get Hurt....It's lawsuit City....that the whole problem...Thats why We fill out Paperwork for 30 minutes before We can start every Job that We do during the Day...and I mean every Job...some Days You fill out Paperwork for 4 Hours out of a 10 Hour Day!! They Blame it on Safety..."We are just trying to keep You Safe"....thats Bull! They are trying to keep their own Tit out of the Ringer....not me Safe and Uninjured...I was born during the Day....but not Yesterday!!

72 yesterday morning at the airport...in Chicago now and it might as well be absolute zero. At this point, temp doesn't matter much- ITS COLD!!!

This is the fifth day in a row of below zero weather. Been using the ATV to feed the mountain pasture horses and the deer are in the yard all the time now! Joe

Well it only got down to 11 here...with the Wind Chill...-3....so not so Bad as it's been...now the Heat Wave starts....supposed to be near 40 today and warming for Saturday even more....thats why People get so much Flu and Colds here....the Temperature has such a ToYo Effect...that You just don't adjust to it....JMO

That blast you all had the first of the week made it to Central Fla today,don't think it will make 70 today but will be in the upper 70's first of the week.Looks like someone's going ice fishing ::)
