Congratulations to Shannon Walker "Saw Filer" of  Mt. Hermon, Kentucky
His Osage Bow Dedicated to "Pappy" is February Self Bow of the Month

Shannon wrote this about his fine bow:Back in November I spent a weekend down a Pappys place hunting with him and the gang.  I had a great time.  We hunted a little and worked on bows and ate a lot.
  On Sunday morning before I went home I was digging around in the hotbox and found a small stave that somebody had sawn off a bigger stave.  I was admiring how nice the wood was when he ask me if it had anybodys name on it.  I said no, and he said take it if you like it.   I did, and she turned out one of the finest bow I've ever made.
  It's 61" ntn draws about 52# @27" The limbs are barely 1-1/4" wide with pretty much a straight taper down to 3/8" tips  
 I heated in 3-1/2" of reflex before tillering and after I finished, she holds 2-1/4" of it. It has a very smooth draw and shoots a fast arrow with no handshock or noise at all.  I covered the limbs with some big copperhead skins that I'd been saving for "just the right bow", and used deer antler for the tip overlays and deer skin for the grip.
  I didn't cut in a shelf, because I switched from shooting right handed, to left handed a few weeks ago and like knowing I can shoot it either way if I need to.  Thank you Pappy.  If you didn't have a bow named after you...you do now!

  I don't know anything to say except THANK YOU ALL! ;D  I honestly didn't expect this. 
  The quality of the bows posted on here has risen so much in the last couple of years I never expected to get this lucky again.
 
 Funny thing is... the only other time I've been fortunate enought to win was with a copperhead covered osage ???   I don't now if it was that combo or because I put Pappy's name on it ;D  Either way, I'm grateful for the votes.  Thanks again.  Saw Filer

Congratulations Shannon!  I just got back from a 7 day trip to Disney World, so I haven't been able to check on the results until now.  It must not have been the osage/copperhead combo that won it for you, because that is what I did too.  Nice job!

 Brownhillboy, the copperhead skins might not have sealed the deal, but I don't think they hurt anything either. ;D   Your copperhead bow, as well as Gordons bow, done very well last month too.  It was almost a 3 way tie 8)
