Just finished this bow,and gave the tru-oil a week to cure,braced it today,shot a few through it ,and took some pictures.
Slippery Elm ,65" tip to tip,63 1/2" nock to nock , 1 7/16" at fades,slightly tapering to 1 3/8" near mid-limb,then tapering to 3/8" tips,with osage overlays.
Scarlet Rit dye on tips,walnut stain on rest of bow.Western diamondback skins.dyed calfskin grip,heat treated.This is my first Elm recurve,and I really like this design with this wood.it is very smooth to draw and shoot,and has excellent speed. It's 60# @28",and came out of a 4" diameter tree.I've got 8 pictures so I'll put 4 on this one ,and post another. God Bless

uhhhh....pete......that bow is just plain KICK A$$ baby! Wow...tiller is perfect, finish is beautiful, and the recurves are sexy. I just have to ask you one favor.......take that bad boy out and kill something BIG with it!

Wow Pete, that is really an exceptional looking recurve! The tiller looks perfect, great finish work with fine attention to detail! I really like the job you did on the tips as well, nice shape! :)

Thanks a lot fellas for the comments,I sure appreciate it. Dean,The back of the bow was right under the bark,you can see some of the heartwood on the handle ,as this one was made from a small tree. Thanks again. God Bless

Pete , that bow is awesome! Your work just keeps getting better and better. The detail looks great and those curves are beautiful. Great tiller and unbraced profile are really showing off your skills as a bowyer. Congratulations.

Thats a beauty, even unstrung it has a great profile, the grain is beautiful on the elm, some day I'll have to try it.
