Congratulations toNiels Boettcher of Hamburg, Germany
His "HickHickFlip " is January's Laminate Bow of the Month
http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,17398.0.html
It's not often one sees a bow backed with the same wood. Lets see how Niels did it:
Hickory backed Hickory Length 61" / 155cm pyramidal frontprofile Width 147/64" (44mm) at the Fade Outs to 7/16" (11mm) at the tips 37lb / 27" Weight 421g
"Recurves" (or better the flipped Tips?) were bent with dry heat and then the laminates were glued with Perry-Reflex (but there is nothing left after tillering) Handle is Tigerwood (Concalo Alves) (and Maple - but you can't see it under the Gripleather)
Powerlam is Maple Tip-Overlays are Tigerwood (Concalo Alves) and Maple also.
I'll bet some of these folks learned from Niels:
-"sweet looking bow looks like you nailed the tiller on it too nice choice of wood for the handle overlay,i like the exotic woods for handles" sailordad
-"very classy looking bow!" elk country rp
-"Cooper that is one sweet little bow. I really like the knock detail with the stringer groove. Never saw that before. Also I really like how nice your pictures are showing the bow at different stages. Well done" Jesse-S
-"The tiller, grip, overlays and even the photography are all top notch! Very professionally done." Saw Filer
