Title: Porch Thinkin'
Post by: Ranger B on February 20, 2010, 05:29:09 pm
Two deployments ago I began writing a piece for my family called Porch Thinkin'. I emailed it out to friends and family. Once facebook started up I put it on there and got a lot of positive responses so I moved it to my website. Since you guys like the outdoors I thought you might like reading it. I am trying to put a new piece up each week. It's just a collection of things on the outdoors and the South...sorry Dana  ;D
I hope this doesn't violate any rules. It is not a solicitation. It's merely an offer for some outdoor reading for free. I hope you enjoy it.

Very much liked it Jimmy :)  Those words painted a picture in my mind of days gone by...some of the best ones of my life.

Jimmy, found it the other night and really enjoyed the read. I appreciate every tour you've done for us. I got to meet you in 08 at Pappy's at the cabin when they tried to burn the place down raking the leaves off the roof of the shop. I hope your book does good and I want a autographed copy. Are you going to be around the first weekend of April or the Classic weekend? If so I'll get one then.

Jimmy
Just checked out your site.  Really liked the Porch Thinkin' writing.  I'm a Yankee, but still can relate to those thoughts.  Except, when I was running today it sure didn't feel like spring. ;D

Well, I think we're almost out of the woods in TN. Won't be long and the trees will start budding.

Nice Jimmy, the last 2 were the same but nice both times I read it. I know that place well. It use to be called Big Daddy's,James Brake ,a big man and fine gentleman owned it,he built the Pit. :) He is gone now but he taught Beau to shoot a bird when Beau was only 2 years old. Some might think
that was awful but Big Daddy thought it was so funny. ;) :)
