hey guys here are a few horn composite bows in progress,,some minor detailing, and they will be ready for sinew,i hope to get a couple covered in the next day or two.... how do you think they look so far??
-
Very cool!!! 8) Do I see some of my hickory in there somewhere? ;D
-
yes pat a couple have the hickory in them that i got from you.... im still looking for someone to take pics or video for a build along,,i would be willing to trade a free bow class...any takers?
-
:o Those are beautiful!!! I want to make one so bad but I don't have the time or money, so I think. How much does it cost to make one approx? I think you're missing a korean bow in there. ;) What is that straight limb one? Egyptian?
-
ive got seven more in the works incuding a korean bow,yes thats an angular bow
-
WOW... they all look fantastic! Great work!!!
-
thanks
-
Wow, those look really cool. some of those bows are so reflexed that they look like a leaf spring with a bad attitude!
-
Billy, they don't even have the sinew on them yet! :o Lots more attitude with sinew. ;D
-
Those are great! I too would like to see a build-along.
Frode
-
Looking good James! Is one of those getting that Green tree python skin?
-
Me Rikee Velly Much!!!
-
James
For those of us newbies to bow building...a build-a-long would be sooo cool!
Like i've said more than once on this forum...I watch, read, and learn...
Give economical options.
Can't even afford hickory backing.
But on thr positive side, necessity IS the mother of invention and most probably messin up...LOL
Watchin and learning..(still workin on self bows)
The worst part about it is that I am a survilvist, set traps, track, havin problems makin first bow. Go figure ??? :-[ ;)
Ron
-
Those will be some fine bows, I'm sure!
Keep up your great work :)
Happy sinewing!
-
Wow...
Hey, man, the standard of work we see is inspirational, great to see there is still the skill and patience out there in this modern world.
Del
-
thanks all,,i will post some more pics after sinew and as the season out,,,again thanks for all the great comments,,, :)
-
Lookin good James but will be even better when ya get some Yooper sinew on em :)
I haven't forgotten the birch bark either ;)
-
Thanks for sharing James!!
-
Wow, looks great! I've always wanted to make a composite. I'd love to see a build-a-long too.
George
-
Thanks for posting that. It is so interesting!
-
First time I have ever seen such a diverse collection in construction at the same time. I can't wait to see them finished. I am really interested in how well you estimated the draw weight. That initself seems like a major task. Great work, keep us posted as you go. Steve
-
Wow, looks fantastic.
The one in the middle seems to be my favorate design, an angular bow, like the Egyptian, right?
Do you have more details, that would be great :)
-
That is inspiring James, I can't wait to see more pictures.
-
Those bows looks awsome...im curiose aboute something......can u plzz tell me, how did u bent those curves into the first bow, from the second picture....did u steam each piece of wood, before gluing???or....thks..and good luck
-
akila.i used the rope and wedge method on all of the cores in the pics,,very hard to manage but can be done with some patience...
-
This is cool, James. Post some more.
-
Pretty amazing work. You go where few bowyers tread.
-
James thanks for sharing; as always FANTASTIC work. I just love those Asian bows.
-
James, I guess from all the reactions here one can say that we all wouldn't be too bored if you posted more (MORE...!) detailed photos of these cores!!!
8) 8) 8)
-
Awesome work James, them are going to be cool. Can't wait to see them finished. You do some amazing stuff with wood. :)
Pappy
-
James, I've yet to meet your acquaintance, but anticipate the day. I hope you bring some of this stuff to the classic, sure would like to oogle over it a bit.
-
Top notch craftwork. And good luck with prepping the sinew for that lot.
-
Awesome James, always love seeing your work on here (and I'd love to see a build along too!). Keep us posted on these, they look great!
-
thanks for all the input guys, barney ive been preping the sinew for these and other bows the whole winter ,,i now have around seven pounds of finished fibers, moose leg ,deer leg and deer backstrap that i got off dana in trade..if any of you fellows have any moose, deer or elk leg tendons you would trade let me know if we can work a trade out..............thanks again,,james
-
Impressive bunch!!
I'm trying to make some like these myself, and they really are time consuming.
Are you making them from any drawings or measurements? If so, perhaps you would share your sources?
You should post these at Atarn.net too :)
-
Wow, 7 lbs of processed sinew is a lot of pounding!! I'm impressed.
I have a few years of deer leg tendon and backstrap sinew stored up that I haven't touched yet. I think I put 3 deer worth in the bag this last fall. How much sinew are you looking for?
George
-
georg,im looking for any amount ,anyone is willing to part with....... ill try to post some close up pics tommorrow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,james
-
7 lbs of processed sinew is a freakin boatload :o I will say this James is a good guy to trade with so send him yer sinew eh ;D
-
James, I have, about 30 each leg tendon and backstrap sinew. Mice got to it in storage so some of the ends are frayed, especially on the backstrap. I have a picture if you'd like to see what it looks like.
George
-
Wow James ,not sure how this slipped by me. You got me real intrested in the horn bows.
-
Hey Ro,
what kind of sinew do you use?
I had a great supply of buffalo but can't find it anymore. Now stuck with deer.
I think you have made one of every bow I've even thoght about making and the
quality........why youuuuuuu... F@#$%ing rock dude
J.B.
-
hey guys hers a few close up pics of the composite bows
[attachment deleted by admin]

-
That is some amazingly clean work! Steve
-
put my name down for one of the curvey ones when finished! the second, third, and sixth are the profiles i love the most.
-
James thanks for the details!
That is some fantastic work; now I wish even more I could come to the Classic, and see those for real...
-
Hey Robustus,
How did you acheive the profile on the curvey-wurvy bow core? I've been trying to figure it out.
regards,
Barney
-
barney i used the rope and wedge method with an out line of the bow drawn on a pc of plywood as a reference,,,,, wedges were used on both sides of th bow in stratigic palces along the reflex and deflex profile.
-
I can understand how ropes and wedges can be used to clamp the horn laminate to a pre-curved core. But still can’t figure how you’d use them to add curvature.
Any chance of a picture of the process?
I’ve completed a couple of horn/sinew composites but am always on the look out for other techniques.
Best regards,
Barney
-
georg,im looking for any amount ,anyone is willing to part with....... ill try to post some close up pics tommorrow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,james
Did you get my PM? It's no problem if it doesn't work, just wonderin if my PM made it through.
George
-
Hi James,
That composite bow really looks complicated to me, cant wait to see the finish product.....
robin tan
-
hey robin! really glad to see you here... i checked the mail today and the package has arrived,, have you got your package yet?
-
how's the Korean bow coming along?
-
great! got horn on one last night and sinewed another korean bow early this morning,,ive got one turkish, one western stlye, one one boo belly bow and the angular bow sinewed and jelling up ..ill try to post pics later.... thanks for asking cade
-
Hi James,
Those bows are really cool!! Maybe someday... BTW...the "bow that shall not be named" is working well...had to get some heavier arrows for her...she slings them like rockets!
Take care,
Rand
-
Hey James, sent you a Pm last week somtime,Did you get it. Give me a call when you get some time, Thanks Bro
-
hey keenan i got your pm,,i will try to call you this weekend...............james
-
Sounds good James, When ever you get some time, no hury. Father inlaw is hear right now.
-
James , nice to see U start this project. Those bows looking real fine. Best wishes for the finish, and the future ones!
-
James, I really like the look of those spliced in handles. Do you think they would hold together with a hickory backed bow, cause part of the slice looks to be in the working part of the limbs.
This is one awesome project you've started.
-
here are a few pics of some of the bows after sinew, the are in the latter stage of jelling and begining to dry somewhat,,thanks for the comment fusizoli,, hedgapple a bow with these kinds of splice would surely hold with a hickory backing
[attachment deleted by admin]
-
one more pic
-
Boy! my sinew backings sure don't look that slick. ::) Is the top pic the Egyptian angular bow?
-
yep it is i still have another layer to go on the angular bow and the turk bow
-
Thanks James for the info. I see a bandsaw in my very near future.
-
WOW... that sure is some perfect sinewing!!!
-
Those are looking Sweet !!
-
thanks david, yeah medicinewheel ,sinewing can be most aggrevating,if you svratch your nose bam! glue on your snoot!!lol lol,,,and thanks for the comment,,james
-
Wow, I agree, my sinew jobs don't look like that either. Did you ever get that picture I sent? I tried both email and PM.
George
-
Wow James, You are entering a whole new dimension in your bow building. Just knowing the beauties that you make with laminate bows, I can't wait to see your works of art.
-
Wow, those are some serious bows.
-
James, those are mighty fine looking bows, like you said, if i shoot these bow in Asia, i will
soon find myself shooting in a bow of noodle LOL! Humidity here is 90% through out the year.
Any way if you really waterproof it well say with 10 layers of waterproofing, will it hold?
Whats the different in terms of cast, power between a 1) bamboo bow and 2) sinew bow.......considering
the specs are the same for both bows?
Robin ;D
-
WOW!!i can see BOM for june,july,august...............etc.......etc.........
-
Man oh man! Those are looking good, James I want one. ;D
-
mox i hate to say it but all these new bows im sinewing have to cure out for at least six months,or more to get the full potential out of the bow,,maybe i can post them around nov-dec.....but thanks for what you said................james
-
James, can you tell us if the hide glue you're using is commercially available ??
send me a PM if you don't want to post it here.
-
i now know what a sinewed backed bow is suppose to look like. you da master!
-
sonny the fish glue im now trying out ,i get from europe,, i cost 165.00 for 400 gm ,also i had to wait three months to get it,,if you or anyone is intrested pm me for the info
-
James, those are looking pretty durn good to be made by an old ugly backwoods Parker. That's about the slickest looking sinew job I've ever seen. Mine usually look like a backlash from a baitcasting reel randomly stuck to a piece of wood by a kindergartner. :)
-
You been coping my Sinew Work again Steve.......... :P
Mine resembles a ball of Nightcrawlers...when you pull em out of the Bait Can....... >:D
-
is that second bow with the sinew your plains style hornbow?
-
Thanks for the e-mail, Robustus. I would have replied earlier but have been away for a bit. I think I’ve figured how you do it now from looking on the Atarn site.
Regards,
Barney
-
chris that is the indian bow ,the sinew is really looking good,i just finished putting a couple of glazing coats of glue on it tonight..ill post pics thursday ,to let you see how its going....james
-
James, is that meant NA Indian? does that bow have a core, or just horn? And what horn did you use??
I'd be really interested in details of that particular one!
-
chris that is the indian bow ,the sinew is really looking good,i just finished putting a couple of glazing coats of glue on it tonight..ill post pics thursday ,to let you see how its going....james
Glazing coats? That's a new one on me, is it something you do when you intend to add more sinew layers after these dry?
George
-
glazing coats are put on after the sinew is made as blemish free as possible,,its a super hot coat of very thin hide glue,,if the surface is done correctly it will be as smoothas glass,so when and if you are birch barking the back ,the bark will not reflect any uneven surfaces or voids...and mirror image it to the surface of the bark
-
Interesting, you must be laying the sinew almost a thread at a time to make it so perfect. So far I've been a lot lazier than that, and the end result looks it. Once it's covered in snakeskin it's my secret though. You've done beautiful work. George
-
frank the sinewed bow is a north american style, osage with steer horn on the belly.im 46 : from tip to tip.. sinew nocks,,i will most likely paint over the sinew back after shooting the bow in..im forcasting the bow to come out around 60 + # @ 26" or more of draw... it has two layers if sinew combined back and leg tendons..after drying it should be around a heavy 1/4 to 5/16 inch thick backing....
george im putting the sinew on in thick bundles,, with the addition of some fish bladder glue added to the pearl glue the work time has lengthened to around 3 min per bundle.. i still have to move quite fast though, once the jelling of the glue sets in its over as far as movment of the strands,,if the strands are straight in the bundles before their dipped in glue it is far easier to lay them down straight when going to the bow..............james
-
after second layer and several coats of glue glazing
[attachment deleted by admin]
-
James, I really would love to see pictures from the belly side of this one, since I'm awaiting some pieces of mountain maple to make one like those!
Again: that is one fantastic sinew job there!!!
-
hey fellows here are a few pics of a the turkish horn bow after 3 layers of sinew, and the bow pulled into the last amount of reflex for this one,,im working on another like it that will be pulled into much more reflex than this one,,, the other bow pic is of a korean horn bow ,with one layer of sinew..... james
[attachment deleted by admin]
-
wow, now that's some reflex! how many pounds will these bows pull when finished?
-
chris the turk bow will be in the high 60 to 70s lbs and the korean will be only in the50s
-
Hi James,
Just curious .........is the core made of wood? I would assume would will be one straight piece, how
do u induce the wood to bend into a circle? before putting on that sinew?
Cheers, Robin
-
rt- the turk bow has a maple core with maple siyahs horn belly and sinew back,,the korean bow has a bamboo core osage handle and osage siyahs,,most korean bows use mullberry for the siyahs,, i didnt have any on hand....thanks for the intrest...............james
-
rt both bows had some reflex after gluing up the core- the rest was put in after sinewing,,the turk bows is a few pages back , showing after the first layer..more relex is added after each layer
-
James, those are looking real nice. Also start checking your mailbox. ;) Oh, forgot to introduce myself, I'm mullets cousin. I sure wish I could be as cool and good looking as he is. I think I came from the N.C. creek branch.
-
Oh no! another Parker!!! :o They are coming out of the woodwork! :D
James, these bows are incredible. Looking forward to seeing them done but am enjoying the process.
-
Those are awesome James.
-
Looking great James. Thanks for posting as you go and really looking forward to the finished product!
-
Hope the birch bark I got ya is what you were lookin for james.
-
thanks guys,,i will keep adding pics as i go along.dana thanks for the bark,,ill be using it on several of the bows later in the year.................james
-
WOW,Your sinewing is better than any I have seen so far,The crabbow looks great.Would you put up some pictures of how you process the horn?
regards
P.J.
-
shikari.all the horns i had on hand have already been cut and ground and glued on cores,,i do have several pairs in the maill, when i get them i show pics,,,,,thanks for the sinew remark.......... :).......james
-
any way you can show how yo prepped the steerhorn, including cutout? thank's bub
-
I have to say that these sure are interesting and great looking bows, (put everything I am doing to shame). I was wondering how well these things shoot as compared to a long-bow, being so short and all. If they do shoot well I would think that they would be great for some spot and stalk hunting, no?
-
can't wait to see these with the birch bark on the back.
-
hey guys here is the turkish horn bow and korean horn bow with the last amount of reflex induced..the turk has three layers of sinew ,the korean only one layer...........james
[attachment deleted by admin]
-
AWESOME!!
-
James those look incredible. Now I want one bad ;D
-
Ya better start working double time on that landscaping Jesse....and when ya buy one...let me know what I am missing..... ;D
-
Can't wait to see these finished!
-
James, I am amazed!, You have a talent that I have to see in person!, So plan on having a visitor this fall for a bit and maybe we can get together and do a little hunting too!!..............Steve
-
wow, i can barely make a bow stay together, and you go doing something like this! good work!
-
thanks steve and areo.....the long wait is now here for these bows,,,but i do have several more coming up for sinew,,, ill post them when ready...........james
-
I was just wondering again, how shooter friendly are these compared to a long bow?
-
composites are a completely different animal,,although they can be shot with great accuracy if using three fingers,, they can also be shot more easily the longer the design. :)
-
Great work Robustus. Like Kviljo say, post this bows in ATARNET. Here comes people who love composites . Some of them forgot , how precise work must be. You are good example. I hope your bows shoot well in the end.( Its pity / from mi point .../ - so light bows. Composites show his adwantage only if was more than 90 lb/
-
thank you very much for the good words dusan,,,i will consider posting them there...thanks again, james
-
Looking good. Are these your first hornbows? If not, I'd like to see some pictures of your finished hornbows.
I understand you were trained by Lukas.
-
no,jose these are not my first horn composite bows, although it has been a few years since i have made any,,,also not to sound harsh, but novotany has never trained or showed me any horn bow information or teachings, ???,i am self taught in this respect,, although i do have adam karpowicz book on the ottoman bows..in my opinion he is the greatest composite horn bow builder in these modern times,,bar none.........james parker
-
i am self taught in this respect,, although i do have adam karpowicz book on the ottoman bows..in my opinion he is the greatest composite horn bow builder in these modern times,,bar none.........james parker
Here! Here!
I also have Adam's book.....he knows his stuff!
-
James - Adam is undoubtedly the best composite horn bow builder, but he doesn't have two lovely and talented assistants like you do. :) Beautiful bows. Maybe someday I'll get up the nerve to build horn & sinew composites and not just wood...
-
Sorry, I must be confused with another person. Looking forward to see your finished bows.
-
James, to sound like the totally stupid newby I am., I would love to see a video of you stinging these bows. For the life of me I can't figure out how that's going to happen. :) I know if I were to attempt such a feat, I would end up with one leg through one limb and head through another limb.
-
hey james, checking to see if there are any updates on the other horn bows you are working on?
-
yes chris,im finishing up the plains indian bow,and just starting to open up the angular bow for bracing soon... james
-
I got to see and touch them all yesterday. Pretty incredible!!!
I'll be reading Adam Karpowicz's book as I got it yesterday while at James and Becca's.
-
thanks pat...glad you liked the composites... i will be bracing some of them through the hunting season... james
-
Finish mine yet? ;D With only two post, I was thinking Jose was Lucas' cousin.
-
Just now looked at this thread. All I can say is "WOW"! Very, very interesting thread and an amazing talent.
-
thanks jc,,keep checking back ,ill post more soon.jp
-
so, its hunting season. got any of these braced yet? :)
-
Bows are looking great James. Any of that horn the stuff I sent you? I need to get Adam's book and try one for myself sometime soon.
-
Hey guys, here is the Plains style bow that I sinewed back in late spring. 46" tip to tip, sinew backed osage core, horn belly, sinew self-nocks, sinew string. finished 57# @27". bow has deer rawhide back, painted with earth pigment that I ground. I used rotten egg whites as a binder in the paint. Waterproofer/sealer is prickly pear cactus juice. The arrows are split, shaved and scraped shafts that I made. They have swelled nocks, stone points, turkey and pheasant feather fletching, sinew bindings. Enjoy ;) --james
-
James looks great!!!
-
Wow, Great Bow James! We ever gonna see that green tree python skin I sent you on the back of one of these composites? ;D
-
Sweet!! I love that full draw.
George
-
I neeeed one of those. That is nice! Scott
-
i love that full draw james . excellent work from a master . can i see an unbraced pic of that bow, so i can get in my head what its supposed to look like . thanks ken
-
Thats some serious dedication there. Great work
-
She turned out great James. Is that the bow I shot when me and the old hippy were there with Patrick and Hannah?
The paint job is impressive too. How does the prickly pear sealer work?
Looks cold!!! ::) Are you sick of snow yet! ;)
Hey to Becca and the boys
-
BEAUTIFUL...!
What does it look like unbraced??
-
i know this is a family site but all i can think to say is holy $#!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
another fantastic bow by you as usual, merry christmas.
-
I like the bow...
Hopefully my skill will be there one day.
Fantastic work!
-
you are a true master.
-
Wow, that is just all round impressive.
-
oh i love it! cant wait to see the others!
-
Gorgeous. The painting pattern is very nicely done. I would say that my favorite attribute is how the bow is very exotically painted, and somehow at the same time, pretty well camouflaged too! Very nice. I'm drooling.
-

-
sweet! it would be awesome if you killed a hog with that set up next week.
-
SWEET!, Are you going to bring it next week? I'd like to shoot it. Ya'll have a Merry Christmas, see you next Monday.
-
Beautiful bow James. That is quite a concoction you use for painting and sealing.
-
Just saw this one, that is an amazing bow!
-
How did you get your glue joints so seemless? Like that truly is amazing work because I'm trying to same thing right now and I'm embarassed of my work after looking at yours ha. What did you use to glue your joints together and to glue the horn down? Thanks and please keep us posted on the progress, it truly is beautiful James.
-Ian
-
thanks everyone,,, here is the unbraced pics,,, here is the ansewers to your ?s,, the egg binder and cactus water proofer is not my idea,,i read some old books that had the info on their uses.
the horn was glued on with sturgeon glue, and was butted at the center of the handel
i have several more composite bows that are near finished, ill post them when done
thanks again guys,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,james
-
thank you James. very nice
-
thanks ken :)
-
boy i sure cant wait! probably be some BOM for a long time now! lol
-
I can't wait to see how the ones on the first page of your thread turn out. Everything looks very clean. Have you ever made a bow with siyahs as pronounced as the ones on the first page?
-
James! That set is a masterpiece in all part!
(will win bom shure)
-
Fantastic equipment! Inspirational stuff. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. I might have mentioned it before, but I really think you should post these at Atarn.net too.
What kind of horn did you use?
-
wow, great work. i really like the sixth bow of the first pic. i was wondering what are dimension for that kind of bow.
-
James, that plains style bow is awesome...looks like it is bent almost double and great tiller. The painting on this one is awesome...very inspiring.
-
My swamp yeti is defitnitly going to take those away from you.Nice work James.
-
James, this bow is now in BOM. Can't wait to get mine.
-
Awesome looking bow. Nice matching set of arrows too.

-
A Turkish Horn Bow ;D Had to trade my next Grandchild.
-
oh my are you lucky!!! i want one bad! ill trade my first born grandchild, in like 15 years! lol
-
I really think being the older and better looking cousin had something to do with it. :D
-

-
Money talks, BS walks, Eddie! ;) You lucky dog! 8) I want one too.

Those look darn amazing. I'd like to see that double-recurve Scythian model... How are they coming?
Marco
-
thanks tic,,here is mullets bow ,a short siyah, chinese style horn composite,,50" groove to groove, almost 1-1/2 wide.bammboo core ,, i used poplar for the siyahs,to cut down on the tip weight,,it shoots really good ,no hand shock and very smooth draw,58# @28" .can be drawn to 31" if his arms are long enough...........james
-
more pics
-
James, if Eddie don't like it just send it to me! ;D ...and his arms are long enough to draw it 30". Eddie is pretty long in the draw for a short guy. ;D
Very nice James. Your detail work in beautiful and I already know the quality of your work. Very well done.
I've got buff horns(from PJ) and lots of sinew and am still reading Karpowicz's book. I can only dream of making a bow like this one...or any of your Asiatic horn bows.
-
Incredible bow James, You sure are getting those horn bows figured out.
Eddie, you are one lucky dog! :o :o
-
WHHHOOOO HHHHOOO! I see a road trip coming up real soon. that is nice, James. Thanks. ;D ;D ;D
-
this is absolutely the colest and most beautiful thing i have seen! amazing work and beautiful craftmenship. i hoping to attempt to try to make one with out horn. think i might be able to come over and talk? lol ::)
-
James, if Eddie don't like it just send it to me! ;D ......
Was just going to say the same thing!
Fantastic work as always; thanks for sharing!!!
-
PS: The arrow pass is ray skin, right??
-
oh my! i love it!! care for a trade mullet?? lol
btw, someone let me know when this is up for BOM cause im voting for it
-
I just have to keep going back and looking at it. I want to shoot it and know it will be at least a week or two before I can make a high speed road trip to North Carolina to get it. :) :'( :) :'( :) :'( ;D
-
why not let the USPS make the road trip for ya ??????????
-
cause USPS isnt always exactly careful with packages, mostly when the packages are marked fragile.. no insurance can cover something like that..
-
Sonny, James said I will have to spend at least two hours so he can show me how to string and adjust it each time it's done till the bow takes a memory with the alignment. He said if it's not done as soon as the bow is strung, it will ruin it. I'm also going to make a thumb ring while I'm there and let James show me how to shoot with it.
-
Awesome little Bow James....I love the Birch Bark Work too...nice touch...
-
Another nice horn bow James. How does the draw feel with the sharp angle on the siyahs? Looks like it would be real smooth.
-
sweeeeet! might ride up and meet you at james' to watch you shoot it.
-
Chris, that would be fun. bring your 45, I'll bring my new one.
-
thanks fellows,,that is ray skin for the arrow pass,, the bow does draw very smooth, with no stacking ,,it also has an early draw weight that is high.. it did gain three or four pounds outside yestarday due to the 19 degree temp... but remained overall stable..i will be finishing up a turkish bow by the end of the month,,,, when done i will post,,,,,,,,thanks alll................james

-
Wow! :o 8)
-
thanks parnell,,,see you wed yehti :)
-
i cant wait for the turkish. were you making a korean style too? id love to have one of both! i just dont know if i could handle a horn bow, theres so much involved in it.
-
Really cool James! That makes processing all this sinew not so much of a process! Take care>

All hail James ! Hail!! 8) Dang boy, that is just about slicker than snot on a door knob! :o Man that is just absolutely beautiful !! 8) Look, Eddie really doesn't need that, what with all the traveling he does, and the chemicals he comes in contact with, and all the foreign insects, he probably has inadvertently brought into this country, and into his home, and there just might be a Southern Brazilian, munchecus, muchowoodo beetle, and larvae in his bow room. So, I tell you what I will do, being the good Friend of Eddies, that I am, I will drive up there and pick up the bow for him, and receive the proper instructions on using and stringing, and storing etc., and then, I will store it in Montana, where it is nice and dry, and not all muggy, and damp, like down here. I will see to it, that he gets to look at pictures, I mean, he gets to look at it, and maybe even shoot it, after proper instruction, on shooting with a thumb ring, and stringing, and restringing, etc. Yes Sir, I will do that, now what would be a good day for me to come up and pick it up? Hey, I'm just that kind of a guy, I don't ask for much, and I would do just about anything for my Friends, you know, it's just the way I am, I can't help it. ....... ::)
That is one beautiful bow!!!!! I'd dance in the rain for that Bow! ;)

Awesome job! Not ever being around a bow like this, I'm curious about the two hours Eddie. What exactly do you have to to after stringing so it doesn't ruin it? How long does it take to get its memory? Also, how ya making the thumb ring? Take pics ;) again- nice bow James!

Jeff, James just told me he would have to show me how to adjust the string alighnment and tiller everytime I string it. And the proper way to string it without twisting the limbs( look at it unbraced :-\). He said after it is braced quiet a few times it will develope a memory and start to fall into place. We are going to cut the thumb rings out of billiard balls. Hopefully, I'm driving up there next weekend.
Can't wait to shoot in the Primitive class at our March 3-D State Tournament with it.
