Title: What is it?
Post by: The Gopher on May 05, 2010, 10:24:16 am: I was going through a box of old stuff and came accross something i found when i was a kid. I grew up in central North Dakota and found this on our land just north of Mandan.

I drilled the hole when i was a kid for a necklace.

I think it's an old mountain lion tooth, your thoughts?

there is quite a bit of dino stuff in ND although most of it is a little further west, near Dickenson.

It doesn't have the high arch on the top side and hooks more at the end than gradually like the badger claw. As for size, I think it would match, but for shape it doesn't. I think it's something else. Young bear maybe? Not really sure. I don't think it's a tooth though. Some kind of non-retractable claw. Wolverine maybe?
