Title: yew staves
Post by: highlandwarrior on April 06, 2007, 08:35:43 pm
Does anyone have a good yew stave to spare or know of a place to get a good one at a decent price. Going to try to make a heavy mary rose replica, any help would be appreciated.

All I can hope for you is luck in finding good Yew at a good price. Yew wood is getting harder and harder to come by and those staves are getting more expensive all the time. If this is a first warbow style bow you may want to try Elm or Ash since they are less expensive and make a good bow to boot. Not as good as Yew but darn close. Talk to JD he has done it a couple times now.
