I guess there is a good use for carbon arrows...as targets.

I just came back from the beach where a friend and I were shooting.  He was shooting a compound with aluminum arrows and I popped a shot off at 35 yards at one of his stray arrows lying on a sand dune.  I hit it but didn't hurt it at all! :(  Well, still one of my best shots of the spring.  My friend wants very badly to build his own bow now.  He just can't believe how cool long bows are.  Another score for the good guys. ;D

I quit the local archery club because all the wheel heads (that is every archer except me) anomalously decided that I would have to shoot each end first in case my big wooden arrows ploughed into a group of  their expensive carbon shafts. Dickheads.
Anyway, good shoot. You must be pretty good to hit such a small target on a clout shot.

You shouldn't be so hard on carbon arrows fella's they are not completly useless , broken carbons have uses only limited by your imagination . Cut them into short tubes and use them as spacers in your back quiver - a strip of leather through the middle to secure them , the push in nock adapters make good pins to locate the riser on your hinged takedowns , I used a very short section as a pivot for my spine jig and tomato stakes are some of the uses I've found for them . Dont discount broken alloys either , good for takedown sleeves for arrows - they shoot just fine  and stuck on the end of broken wood arrows can be a lazy mans footing . regards Perry
