I'm in northwest NJ. I've made a couple bows, looking for others who hunt with homemade stuff. I rifle hunt in the Adirondacks and looking to find some places to hunt just over the border in NY since I buy the license. NJ just getting too crowded and losing land every year to big clubs !! Any public land up your way ? John

Hey: sorry about the late response. I live in Warwick, NY which is on the border of NJ. I hunt in my back yard. But I do know of areas that might be avialable,I just usually go on my property. PM when you get this and we can talk some more.

I might be available this weekend, 4 day weekend. I'll email my friend. He's got a nice collections and much more knowledgable that I am. I'd like to plan a spring turkey hunt and maybe some 3d events. Not sure if you'd be into any hunts that you have to pay for. I know they have some upstate.

There's a 3-d event that RyanO mentioned in the SHooting and event forum. I think that's what the forum is called. I sent you a message last week. I thought it might be fun to participate. I'm not a very good shot but maybe I could pick up a few pointers and see some other work.

I just looked at the other post - and yes, it looks like it would be a blast. I will check with SWMBO and see if I can get away - - maybe with a son or two. I will get back to you.
I am not a great shot either - - no worries - so long as we can laugh at our misses - then we will be alright.

Gents,
I'm in Putnam, 2 miles north of Exit 18 on I84. That puts me mid way between everyone. I could likely host a get together one weekend at my shop.....the next 2 are NG for me, but the 24th might could work. Let me know.

you are right near the complex with HD and the Animal Kingdom, right?
A weekend get together sounds like a great beginning. I say we also plan some kind of foraging expedition - - need to find (and cut) some new hickory.

I can't wait, the timing is great too, right after all the stressful school tests. That rawhide backed bow that was un the tree last time is slowly but definitely making progress, I will try to take some time for arrow work when we are not shooting or making bows ect.
Hope to see you there

RBL, TGR YB2, and anyone else who may be interested:
June 23rd at my shop in Patterson, NY. Dogs on the grill, beer on ice. Bring a shooter and we'll fling some arrows. Bring a project that you're currently working on and want to demonstrate a technique or get help on.
Look forward to seeing y'all.

...oh boy, there may be some other commitments to squirm out of, nothing too important, just significant enough to be annoying... But you can be sure that I will try my darndest to make it.
