I would guess either a set of arms that you cut off an alien that crash-landed his saucer in your swamp, or tongs to move hot rocks with?

You use them to shake the branches of nut trees in the fall to make the nuts fall down then you use the handy spiral nut picker upper (not pictured) to pick them up so you don't have to bend down and after it collects a few, you dump them in Hillbilly's carry to take to the fire. Then you sit down, crack the nuts throwing the shells in the fire to hear them crackle, eat the meat out of the nuts (saving some for pie) and scratch your back with you handy nut tree branch shaker! ;D

lets see. id use em to twist varmints out of their hole. then id put the sticks in the ground next to a fire with a green stick crossing the two to use as a spit. if the heads were a bit shorter they would be great for snakes or even pinning fish along the shore. i could use one of em for the trip on a dead fall. i'll try to come up with more ideas nbut the kids are screaming for me. peace

Did I mention I know what it is. ::) ::) It was used by the NA in Mexico too. A similar weapon was used on other continents, a little different shape though. Probably one of the original hunter gatherer weapons, don't you think Bob. Justin

Antrpologists think it outdates the bow by thousands of years and maybe the atlatal. That is if you believe them ::) Ancient Utes (Yampah), woodland tribes, west Coast NA'S, plains trbes(before the Spanish introduced horses) southeast an midwest tribes. Almost all soceities used them here in North America. Another hint..men and boys used them in NA soceities and Paleo Indian groups. ;) Like Justin said, probably one of the original hunter gather weapons fer the hunt. BTW, it works as good today as it did then, I know I have used the 2 you see. ;D........bob

Alright Brokennock ! Thats what they are. Call em 'rabbit sticks today also. Are thrown sidearm an low ta ground. Thrown like a baseball sidearm pitch. Devastatin' ta all sorts of small game on ground and birds. Ducks on water, curlews. Tree rats if they are on ground, possums, 'dillos ifn ya hit em in head, rabbits etc. Prongs on front(small branches) give it weight and shock power. Look at curvature of sticks, gives greater velocity, accuracy and power. A stone axe, Hillbilly's birchbark containers an a bamboo fire saw kit with tinder an 2 throwin' sticks an ya can survive and make other stuff and EAT! Jamie was right they serve other purposes as well but main purpose was ta get food. Very wide kill zone. These 2 ya see have taken lots of small game especially smaller one since its been used more. One is made from avacado wood an other (larger) from wild orange wood. Hunt with em' on private land or res land don't know ifn they are legal on public land....bob

Btw-can make these throwin' sticks in bout an hour with stone tools. Hack with stone axe. Peel bark with sharpened seashell, sharpen with coral rock, sand down with same coral rock. Go huntin'....... Ifn ya wanna keep it rub with hawg or deer fat every day and lay in sun an wind fer a coupla weeks ! Bon Appetit ! ;D.....bob

Non, I believe you have me confused with Sarah! ;D I am blessed to come from a long line of hunters! Where I have never field dressed a deer, I could tell you how step by step. ;D The best part about gutting/cleaning/scaling fish...looking in their stomachs to see their last meal. ;D You would laugh at yourself if you saw my fingernails... :)

Wow Greg, its only June. Those white tail sure do lose their velvet early. ;) ;D I can walk you through cutting the legs off and harvesting the sinew. Then you can send it to me since you don't know what to do with it anyway. ;D Justin

Ok well I always watched from a "meat house" that was on the property so they had hooks to hang the deer...ok I go from that point? Let's see how I do and I am sure (in fact would bet my life savings which isn't much ) that justin will correct me...
Ok take a knife and slit on the ankle part of each hind foot to stick the hooks into it then hang it upside down...so far so good?

Field dressing is getting what's inside, out. You was off to a great start on getting one skinned though! ;)

Well don't you have to hang it upside down and then cut a slit from the pooper down through the chest, let the watery stuff gush out and then pull out all the guts? ;) They stink and there are a lot of them but if you have a few dogs around, they generally will clean up the mess. ;D. There was this little dog look like tripod but with four legs...he would start at one end of the entrails and work his way all the way to the other... :P.

Did you want me to go into great detail about cutting away the lungs and heart slowly separating them from the cavity etc? :P Getting a thicker knife to cut through the breast bone if too hard and slowly scalping/scraping the inards carefully from the inside lifting them out of the deer, and then washing the cavity all out before skinning it :)...And how the person who shot it is supposed take a bite of the heart or at the very least decorate their face with the blood :o...is that what you were looking for ??? or just the general lets pull the guts out and feed 'em to the dogs kind..Because I can do either, after all it is your deer. ;D

I did field dress it myself...although we had a guide that would have. It wasn't an elk although from the rack it does look like one. It was a Maine bull moose. Field dressing deer are a piece of cake, that moose made me break out in a sweat. :)

Hey Dave T,If you are good you stay clean.I cleaned and skinned a 1000# Brahma bull with a white Tshirt on.Didn't get a drop on it till the butcher dropped a quarter and I caught it with both arms before it hit the floor.I could'a killed him. :D

With a moose you practically have to crawl inside to reach. I would say that is not clean, but DANG CLEAN. Justin
