Not sure the pics do it justice, but here ya go. The last pic will hopefully reveal where it gets the name :)
It's not 100% finished yet, I may add an arrow plate, but I think I like the grip bare wood. Hard to take good pics, the white back tens to bleach out, and I was too impatient to spend ages setting up arty shots.

Nice.
That's a great looking bow.
Character bows are where it's at.
-
Cool bow and beautiful wood!
With that name and look...is it for bowfishing only? :P

Oh man....you just made choosing for june BOM VERY tough to choose. You did that stave justice and made it even better than it should've been. That big horizontal knot is ridiculous that it holds to the strain. Most woods with that type of knot wood explode.
dude...that bow is gorgeous and I love the centershot front profile drawing the bow. I am soooooo full of yew envy. Im dying to get my hands on some and this is not helping my sickness. :o :o :o

WOW that is amazingly beautiful! Tiller looks great as always and the wood is beautiful! Well done!

beautifull bow and wood there Del.
-
Absolutly awsome bow Love the notts and the belly rings very well done.
-
That's a real beautiful "ugly" bow. Excellent job!
-
Exactly the type and quality of bow we've come to expect from you Del...Killer work. (The colors of that Yew's belly is sooo beautiful.)
-
Cheers guys, that bit of wood was so nearly overlooked. I had a tree surgeon bring over some Yew logs, most were no good, I sorted out 6 and then saw that runty twisted bit with a huge scar up one side where all the sapwood had been worn away where it had been rubbing against another branch.
"Oh I might as well have that too, there might just be a character bow in it" I said :)
Guess I was right.

Great character!!! :)

You sure got the name right,The back really does look like the back of a gharial minus the colour, excellent bow.
-
Naughty, knotty, top notch!
-
All around awesome ,Love that grain, tiller pretty nice to, well done-Hammertime
-
Great looking bow Del. You pulled it off nicely with a very challenging piece of wood. It's hard to compare anything to a nice yew character bow.! Congratulations
-
just awesome Del, I know you listened to the wood with the design...how hard was it to ignore that english DNA and not make it with a D cross section?
-
Sweet job on a very challenging piece! ;)
-
Outstanding. ;D
-
nice bow never made a yew bow but definately beautiful wood.
-
Nice!

LOL... I actually enjoyed the change, I'd come off the back of 5 longbows on the spin.
I'm looking forward to doing a similar one form some knotty Hornbeam and I have a nice wide flat piece of clean Yew too.
I shall take a break from makin' bows for a while... :o
Yeah, about an hour should do it :)

In the original full draw shot I'm aiming down a bit and someone queried if the lower limb was weak.
I've rotated the pic by 5 degrees in this shot. I think the upper is just a whisker stiff by the two big knots, which isn't surprising.

A picture's worth a thousand words.
