Title: rock identify if possible

this is a head i found up at the nole here in mississippi was wondering if someone could identify the stone type it is a greish blue color the pictures do not do it justice i find them like this all the time. the head is also pretty thick in my opinion about 1/4 in thick. we had cchoctow and cheerokee and creek indians camped out in the area from all over the south getting ready for the trail of tears. any ideas????

just  a guess from the color it might be tallahatta quartzite? were in miss. are you?

i'm in north ms around oxford the stone is not natural to the area that is why i'm asking.

Tishamingo chert.  It is in cobble form and can be knapped raw but really needs to be heat treated.  And it is a native stone.  That point is probably Woodland, about 3.500 to 1,500 years old and it looks like a point for a dart.  Bill
