Title: Sinew backed black cherry
Post by: youngbowyer on November 02, 2011, 11:10:35 pm
I found a dead 4 ptr shot by trespassers/poachers and I'm gonna take the sinew.I know black cherry is extremely strong in compression but not so in tension so would sinew+black cherry=speed?

Black cherry is a compression strong wood with respect to itself but not necessarily other woods. I'd fear that a sinew backing may be too much for it but I could be wrong. Your design would play into it as well.

Rawhide might be a better option
