Two cane arrows I made lately. One I made two weeks ago at Twin Oaks, with a Damascus trade point given to me by Eddie. The other I made today. I went by Lowes and picked up two pieces of cane for .98 cents each. I used a heat gun to straighten them both. Stained with leather dye and finished with spray poly. The turkey feathers are from birds around Pappy’s farm.
I used mustard to put a patina on the trade point I made today. I'm kinda liking the way that turned out. I might just have to try to make another tomorrow.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice John. I recognise the initials on the one trade point. ;)

Good looking arrows Jon,only thing that would make them look better would be some blood on them. :)

Great looking arrows. Really love that Damascus arrowhead.
-
Those came out real nice, Jon. If you put some mustard or straight vinegar on the Damascus it will really pull out the pattern.
-
Those look real nice Jon. Didn't know that about the mustard, I'll have to try it, just cut out my first trade points this past weekend and need to put an edge on 'em.
-
Nice job Jon. And @ 98 cents a piece, man you can't hardly beat that!!
-
those are some fine arrows jon. thanks!
-
Thanks guys for the kind words.

Excellent work on both.

The bow is HHB (Tennessee Ironwood) One of Pappy's choice pieces of wood he gave me. Funny thing about that bow, it was the easiest one I've ever worked on. It's been the only bow I've made that from start to finish had not a single problem along the way.

You are the man Jon. they look great. I'll have to talk to Eddie about getting one of them points. Next time I'm down you need to show how to make some points. I have some pieces of old band saw blades. B Dan

Dan, let me see what I can come up with. ;)

Any time for you Dan. :)

check the garden section of walmart. they have 10 packs for $2.88 out by me.
Might ask the manager if they will discount. Hit him with inventory costs till spring don't make it worth to hang onto. "wink".
I generaly get about 8 arrows from a pack or more. Some whole packs work out and in other packs I either get a buggy one or two or one or two is like a 15# tiny thing.

I'll check it out thanks Prarie Bowyer thanks!
Here's a better picture of Eddie's point he gifted me.

How about a picture with some blood on it, Jon? ;) ;D

Helped a buddy of mine tonight. (8 pointer) got blood all over me hanging it up to process. Far as blood on me from an arrow of mine? Not so sure about that lately. :)

Wow, those are pretty!
