Stop the press! Was that a serious guess from Marie?  It is about 98% quartz, but it has a specific name.  And no it is not sandpaper.  ;D
You will have it there in a few days Bob.   ;D Justin

Hellloooo cave women still have grooming needs!  Jeweled encrusted bones for the matted hair to keep it out of the face so the fire coal smears are clearly seen.  GregB's elderberry stain for the toenails buffed to a shine with hillbilly's dead animal hat and heels and callouses smoothed by NON;s rare rose quartz used only for the special cave woman! ;)

NO TO BOTH. But if you use them on your feet, and I guess you could.  Then they would smell like really old cheese.  :-\ Then Sarah would be right.  ;D Justin

I would get banned from this forum if I posted a paver or used a wet saw.  It truly belongs on this site. It is between 150-200 million years old.  Justin

This is a multi-purpose tool:
used to keep kids in line
crack the eggs when making an omlet
paper weight
hold down hide when tanning after scrapiing the gunk off of the hide so that it can be stretched and dried

Ding Ding Ding....  I was actually looking for a specific name, but we are going to give it to Pat.  It is Navajo Sandstone, or some call it Jurassic Navajo Sandstone.  They are actually unsure if it is from the late Triassic or early Jurassic period. It is the same sandstone that makes up Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Zion National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Dinosaur National Monument, Colorado National Monument, the sandstone around Lake Powell, and lots of others.  There are quite a few specimens around with dinosaur tracks in them, so I do believe they have been around a while.  It also comes in white, pink, grey, brown and multicolor. This particular piece has been used as a grinding stone for grinding horn down and as an abrader for knapping.  I have some bigger pieces that can be left stationary and rubbing your bow on for grinding/sanding.  They also work well as sharpeners for axes and hatchets.  Justin

Yes Marie, I'm sure that the early NA used it like pumice.  I'm sure they wanted the soles of their feet nice and soft while they were walking around in the thorns and cactus of the desert.
Brian,   ??? ??? ???        Justin
