Looks like a solid bow to me   ;D nice work.  Specs? And is that a parachord bow string? That's very Bear Grylls of yah.

Awesome bow, what are the specs? Theres just something about a short powerful hard hitting bow that just appeals to me  :)

Thats my tillering string. lol But I am not sure on the specs yet. But its 50" long and I can safely say 60lb at 25" or 26". And no this is not a backed bow, the Cal. bows don't need to be backed.

No offense, and I hope you prove me wrong, but I am highly skeptical of those specs on a 50" long stiff handled levered tipped unbacked bow by a novice. If so how much string follow do you have?

Lets see it drawn. I always say its not a bow until its bowed.

I think it looks good but i agree... We need a full draw! Also this is not a california style bow but it is very nice looking...

it appears that your drawing it about 20-22", nice work, but the stiff handle area isn't common on west coast bows, Bub

I am not trying to argue with you just trying to inform you that many californians used short bendy handle paddle bows.... Your bow does not display these traits and is more of a Molle style bow and looks very good.

Not really but kind of. Ed Scott made a bow very close to this, and I just jacked with the idea a little bit.

Ed scott makes a dang fine bow. I know the one your talking about and that's bow of like a hybrid bow. Mix between American flatbow/holmgaard. He has an interview video on youtube about this style of bow which is worth watching.

You did a very nice job I'm sure ed would agree :D

I met the guy and he is interesting.  In fact, he gave me a hickory and an osage stave as a gift.  Turned the hickory into a missile launcher  ;D.  At this moment, i'm working on the osage.  It will be a double curve horse bow.  Ed is a genuine human being.  He allows the neighborhood kids to come and shoot.  All they have to do is knock on his door .

He seems like the type of guy that would make all the kids bows just to make them smile.
