This traditional archery contest in Montopoli is set within the context of a whole day of medieval celebration: musicians, damsels and flag-wavers galore! The annual event features parades, medieval musicians and minstrels, historical plays, artisans, dancing damsels, feasts and food stalls. It has become quite a magnet on the Italian festival circuit, attracting locals and tourists from all over Italy, as well as abroad. Worth a visit if you're in the Pisa region.
