Went to my first 3-d shoot this weekend at Hawkeye bowmen. My dad and I shot every course 2 times and went on a fun edible plants walk... The yellow course I shot was my favorite and easily the most difficult.. Both it and the red course were awesome though. We only lost one arrow each after shooting over 150+ targets. The first pic shows one of my best shots of the weekend couldn't have been more centered in the center ring from about 23 yards through numerous saplings. Other two pics show me and my dad taking a shot... Overall an awesome shoot and we will be back next year.

What?!?! No stickbow? >:D
Sounds like you had fun.
-
...and them funny looking arrows too! :o
3D shoots are lots of fun and sure do help to get ready for hunting season.
because you guys are using FG bow, etc, I'm moving this to "Around the Campfire".

Nice shooting! Looks like you had a great time.

Haha,
No problem with the move my bad... and I did bring a self bow to the shoot, but our camera ran out of batteries... I'll be sure to get pics of it at the next one....
Haha...

We usually pin cushion the piss out em here.Empty out our quivers.Have blast with our self bows.Anywhere from 20 to 40 yards.
-
No backdrop on a lot of targets so losing an arrow or two is pretty good.I bring a few blunts along too.Get those compound guys to shoot at targets 75 to 80 yards......LOL.Funny when you start doing that with them they all of a sudden star having fun too instead of being soooooo serious.
-
Jon that is the best practice you can get.
-
Looks like a good time Jon. Good looking quiver too! dpg

I love to stump shoot with blunts also, but I wouldn't be to happy if I caught you shooting blunts in our targets. We have some that cost $1,800.00 so for me it is just a respect thing to not try and tear them up when I go other places. :) Matter fact Hawkeye just bought 40 same as new targets from us over the last 2 years,
about $17,000.00 worth ordered new, lots of folks don't realize that. :)

I agree, love 3d shoots, hate it when I am supposed to score. :)Some love that part but not me. :) By the way good shot Jon. :) Nothing like hitting where your looking. :)

I've made it out to few 3-D shoots and always have a blast, but we always had to keep score. In Oct. I'm going to try and make it out to the Carolina Traditional Archers shoot in Maiden NC. I hear it is a ton of fun. Glad you had a good time.

Yes keeping score usually is'nt a requirement with the group of guys and gals I go through the course with.We watch our manners good and give respect.I only go to a half dozen a summer or so.Just have a good time takin advice and giving advice if someone has a problem with their bows or arrows. It's a good banter and you soon find out who makes their own equipment and fine tunes their own or if they go to bass pro shop to solve their problem. That's why I'm glad this self bow making makes you a problem solver in practically everything about archery if you want to hunt anyway. They can't tell me that they go into the treestand with their 4 foot stabilizer on their contraption. The nice thing about 3D shooting to me is it gets you used to shooting at different distances and angles.
