Title: Character elm, sinew and turkey feathers
Post by: hammertime on September 08, 2012, 11:34:46 pm
Hello all...Thought I would share some projects I am finishing up from the summer. This character elm is 54"ntn 64#@24 of draw, sinew backed.I like how sraight arrow did his turkey bow but knew I would never have the patience for that so I just glued on some L.W. turkey feathers over the sinew, turned out purty cool I guess. Not a big fan of short bows(wait till you see my next bow) but this one was a challenge to make and it sure zips an arrow, even at that short draw.!Thanks for lookin-Hammertime(http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd464/jeffreyakolste/Jan-Sept2012173.jpg)

Wow looks really cool. Can't wait to see a full draw pic! I'm personally a fan of shorter bows, so far looks like you did a good job.

I like asymmetry. So many bows I see are "perfect".

Long live asymmetry, character, and your own interpretation of "right"

Oh my!  I like that! That is some serious character!  I am very impressed with the tiller.  I would've pulled the last few hairs from my head trying to do that.  I had to look at it for quite some time to really see how well you did.  Very nice!  Josh

Absolutly awsome bow....I cant even begin to imagine what it must have been like to tiller (well, I can...but none the less). I love it....it really has soul.

I would have gone with another type of rest....but man, what a bow:-)

Cheers
