Hi, I finally finished my first selfbow a month ago It is a 67"NTN 43#@28" hackberry selfbow. Thanks to all on here for the help thoughout. I have been hunting with it and shoot a doe tonight with the selfbow bamboo arrow flint tip I knapped. Got one lung left a great blood trail and went about 275 yards. It dosnt get any better than this. I am hooked!!
Thanks again for all the help.

Way to go! Nothing like reaping the fruits of your labor to boost confidence. Man has the ability to relay on his own skills to hunt successfully, as you have now demonstrated. It's always cool to see young guys realize this. Keep it up grinner!

"I did it!!!"
He has confessed. We have incontrovertable photographic evidence. The mere fact that he poured himself into perfecting the weapons only points to his pre-meditation! Ladies and gentlemen, this case is a slam dunk. This was no accident. He's a hunter!
Atta boy.

Fantastic! Congratulations. Definitely something to be proud of.

I was wondering if you could give the stats on that arrow head? Namely the width, grain, and length. Just currious about how much it takes to be lethal. Also, where did you shoot her at, the heart, lungs? Looks like lung by all the bright red foamy blood...
-
Congrats on a successful hunt!!
-
Good job Grinner. I'm still waiting to get my first one with a self bow. I'm am sure you are very happy. Danny
-
Congratulations, Grinner!! Good job!

I hit one lung and the broad head was 7/8 wide and 2.25 long. Not sure how much it weighed but the full arrow was probly 550-600.
-
Well Griner I got mine yesterday. I will post it on another thread soon. Danny
