First off, I have been reading these forums for some time now, and have finally decided to join up and contribute. The community here has been the greatest resource of knowledgeable and helpful individuals I have come across in a long time.
This is my latest bow, all ready for the hunt in a weeks time. It is a 68”NTN red elm flat bow pulling 50# @26” Ironwood root overlays, leather handle, rabbit fur arrow rest and silencers and it is stained slightly darker. Giraffe pattern is hand painted. Shoots quick, quiet and right where I look. Hope to make meat with her soon.
Cheers!

Looks like you know your way around the shop :) That's a sweet looking bow! Welcome to the club :)
-
Very nice bow young man from tip to tip.Perfect tiller.Have fun with er.
-
What sort of paint did you use for the giraffe pattern?
-
Wow! That bow is really amazing! If I was a deer I'd be dead to rights because I'd have a hard time taking my eyes off the bow. Either that or I'd be wondering how a giraffe got to North America! Anyways happy hunting! Beautiful bow!
-
JL, Amazing job!!! You'll fit right in here.
-
Thanks guys! And yeah the giraffe pattern was an odd choice for sure geographically. It is painted with an oil base paint over the varathane. Was a fun one to build. I heated in about 2" of recurve when I started and finished with about 1-1.25" set. The top limb is an inch longer than the bottom as well.

Classic and classy flatbow. Normally I dont care much for cut-out arrowpass, but this one is an exception.

Good bow. Welcome.
-
Great Job! Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Thanks a lot guys for the wonderful welcome! You are correct this is bow #6 in the arsenal now. 2 are retired due to impending failure and 1 is too weak for my liking. I have a hickory molly that is a joy to shoot though a bit low on power (took more set due to higher moisture content). The other is an oak D shape longbow, which I still really like, but the tiller isn't up to my current standards. Got into building bows in late February this year. It is definitely a passion/addiction now.

DUDE THAT BOW IS SWEET! Nicely done.
-
Nothing wrong with that! Very nice job.
-
I don't know, I think your finish work could use a little attention...
(Jus kiddin!) ;D
Nice bow, and welcome!

What an introduction! Welcome to the community, aka bowyer addicts anonymous (though we're not very anonymous and don't really want to be cured >:D). She's a real beauty and is definitely hunt-worthy! Fine work, i hope she's not your first!? Otherwise ima go crawl back to my man cave ;)
