Very nice work! Are the scallops purely decoration or was there a reason the Native Americans used them? I really like the look of that style of bow.
-
Sweet!! They both turned out great. I love those arrows too.

Thanks. I think its decorations. :-)

Don't get much better than those two.
-
Nice job! Really like the Potowatomi, looks very authentic.

Thanks. :D

These are my types of bows. Im getting more into these shorter native designs.
How difficult is it to tiller with the scalloped edges?
Tangential fletched arrows? 2 whole feathers it looks like. How well do they fly?
Tried shooting with pinch grip instinctive style? Seems like the short draws are good for that type of shooting.
Sorry for all the questions ;D. Just really liking the bows.

I think it's not difficult to tiller those bows. The bows are made from a board of ash. Straight rings. 3 feathers. The arrows go straight. They make sounds. Svisjjjjj...... ;D
-
Nicely executed, and "crescent moon" shape tiller...now all they need is some dings, mud,n blood to be authentic ;)
-
Some of the best scalloped bows I think I've ever seen. WELL DONE! Those arrows are nice too!

Great job on your scalloped bows. I like those arrows too--is that an authentic replica design?
-
Can I ask you, did you come up with that upper stringing nock on the first bow, or is that traditional? I was thinking of trying something like that out lately, but had never seen a nock like that until you posted these bows. Beautiful bows though. Gorgeous.

Two very cool bows there. Well done.
-
Cool little bows. Very nice tiller
-
I don't know which I like better, the bows or the arrows. Both are great.

The stringing nock on the Iroqouis bow is traditional. The bow is a replica. Whitewoodbow from the Iroquois tribes. Maybe a childs bow. From a drawing by Steve Allely. The arrows are inspired by the 5 nations tribes. Eastern woodland Iroqouis tribes. The feathers are from "Norwegian forest grouse"

;) Heisan. Er du norsk? Ikke ørn, men røy. Kona til tiur. I've got some hawk feathers for the next arrows. Eagle is difficult to catch. Illegal. :-)
