Title: "deer prayer"

i was wondering does anyone else say a prayer for the animal they just killed...or is that just me?

I never had in the past but I saw some pics I think in the PA magazine where someone did that.  I thought is was appropriate to give thanks and respect the life that had just been taken.  Haven't killed anything yet this year but it is a practice I want to start and pass along to my sons.  Just seems like the right think to do.

I do and believe it's appropriate to give thanks for every meal no matter how it was acquired. My son's and daughter do the same.

I don't say a prayer with words in it,
 but with every animal I kill, I stop for a moment, kneel down by it, touch it and think about the greatness of life, how wonderful it is that the world works the way it doe's, the circle of life.
That's my prayer.

Im with Kevin as well. My thankful prayers come when that bugger is sitting on a platter on our table in the cooked form.

i thank the lord before and after every hunt just to thank him for letting me hunt and especialy when i shoot something

Nothing out loud, but thanks is always given along with a little bit of remorse for the sacrifice of an awesome creature.

There is always a moment where it is just me and the animal.  Sometimes if feels as there is a connection and an understanding, a moment when I feel very humbled.

I put some tobacco on the earth to keep things in balance and I thank the critter for giving me it's life so I may live.

Been doing that for as long as I can remember, not just for Deer but for all game I take.
