Recipients of the arrow exchange post your pics of arrows received here :)
Tracy
-
Two years ago at the Classic Old Hippy gave me an arrow. It is on display in my office at work. I told him I was going to bring it back next year and have him sign it. Well that Old Rascal went ahead and shipped me another arrow and this one is signed. It isn't part of the arrow exchange but I wanted to post it anyway. He told me I'd never shoot it because its to long for my stubby arms.
Thanks Old Hippy.

That old codger makes a pretty nice arrow.
-
Looks like it'll make some meat! Very nice! Congratulations.............Art B
-
Glad that you like it you old rascal. The point is mook set with pitch in my famous hill cane, wrapped with sinew, 32 inches ling with self nocks. Not too pretty but will do the job.
Now Clint has to teach me how to make a pretty bow with the wood he is going to bring me to the Classic next year >:D. Hope you like it little buddy.
Peace, Hippy
-
Old Hippy, that point is the exact shape as the first Native American point I found on our property when I was around 5 years old. I didn't even know what it was. I picked it up and showed my parents because it was shaped like a Christmas tree.
-
Killer arrow and point Steve! Lucky dog , Clint.
Tracy
-
Alright, here are pics of not one but two very nice arrows sent to me from Ed Brooks. Thank you very much! The darker one is a hand planed fir arrow from a century old barn beam with an obsidian point and the other is hazel with a bone point and natural cresting colors with a down/ marabou at the fletch. Thanks again Ed!
Tracy

nice arrows guys.Clint I have two of Steve's arrows.i'll get him to sign mine next year.
-
It'll cost you money next year Steve >:D. And you got tow of my arrows? Man I gotta quit drinking ;D
Peace, Hippy
-
Sweeeeeet!
-
yes Steve,i have two arrows.we might have been drinking a little that night.Eric said that if you gave me two,you must like me.can you sign them next year?i'll just get you drunk and you can sign three lol.
-
Sounds good to me brother. Eric may be the reason that I forgot. You just remember to bring them and remind me to sign them.
Peace, Hippy
-
Clint, the same thing happened to me yesterday. Elijah, "Seminole wind", came over yesterday so I could help him with some string making for his 300# Osage bow. ::) While he was here he gifted me with a very nice arrow from that matched set he had posted a week or so, ago. he told me since he's leaving for Afghanistan in two weeks and will not get a chance to hunt with them he gave them all away.
I feel very honored to have it and if I get a chance that's gonna be the first arrow out of my quiver this year.
-
I think Eric is the reason for a lot of people forgetting things at the Classic ;D

Just got mine.....thank you Mr. Mullet >:D took this picture of a very fine "normal sized" arrow with my newest midget bow. Got to decide whether I really want to fling it at a deer, it's a damned fine arrow, and the only one I have with a coral head. ::) ::) ::)
rich
-
Glad you like it, Rich. I'd fling it at something ;D I know where some more coral is at.
-
That is a fine looking pair.

USPS SUX!!!!! Like the arrow as a hole but can't hunt with it sorry.

Osage Outlaw- You're very welcome. I have it on good authority that this will probably go into your display case. However, should you make meat with it, just post some pics! :) That tip may need a little sharpening but not much. Enjoy!!!
G
-

Clint,i have a couple for you too brother.i think am am also going to make you one from red osier.i haven't used this material before, but I have a few that are well seasoned.do you like flint points?
-
Steve, yes I like flint points. I like any kind of hunting point that someone is willing to put on an arrow and give to me ;D
-
you are in luck.i have two for you now,but I just might make you a special one.

Thank you. I will start collecting arrows too.
-
i'll do what I can Scott.work is crazy right now so it might be a minute.i hate to see a guy get a broken arrow.
-
I opened that tube at the nock end smiled real big and pulled it out to only have the fletching end come out. 3 people were watching me open it they said it looked like I lost my best friend. I am sad over it. I looked at them and said WELL CRAP THEY BROKE MY ARROW!!!! I will be giving USPS A PIECE OF MY MIND THAT IS FOR SURE. Cause they can not replace that!
-
Scott, I just talked to Eric and he was amazed that the arrow was broken. Said that the tube that he shipped in was one that a UV bulb came in for the fish pond. Anyway, he said that he would make you another and send it by US Mail this time. I have a good friend that works for UPS and he recommends using the postal service for shipping things.
Hippy
-
I told ya Eric was a good fella.it is cool that he is gonna make you another one.i am really busy right now anyway.i am building a new casino and horse track.it is kicking my butt at the moment.
-

-
you are welcome Rob.glad you like them.sorry you lost them at the same time lol.
-
I got mine from Oldhippy yesterday. Thanks a bunch Steve, it is a great looking arrow. i think it will make a great display arrow, and I will do just that, but first, I am hopefully going to stick it through a whitetail ribcage soon. I will get a pic up as soon as my wife fesses up on where she hid the camera.
-
Scottski Ive got you another arrow I just have to get a point on it.
-
Way cool!
-
I think Eric is the reason for a lot of people forgetting things at the Classic ;D
Ok fellas, rumor has it that some of yall got into my tractor fuel and thought it was made to drink so yall cant blame me for your short-term memory. Heck I wish I could just remember half of the classic
See yall next year with more fuel!
-
Actually received my trade arrow on Friday from Oldhippy. This is the first chance I've had to post it.
G
-
don't forget me Eric.see you in the spring brother.that sucks your arrow got broke,it looked awesome.
-
OK folks, I feel real lucky here. First off they came in a big PVC tube, and ready to travel. Got these two beauties from Greg Anderson, Badly Bent. Guys these are some top notch works of art. Not to mention when I do decide to crest, I usually use green, white and black. The bone blunt has three lightning grooves in it too. These are AWESOME Greg, love the use of the turkey chest feathers too!! Thanks BB! and Thanks to you Ol'Hippy Steve for thinking of this exchange. My recipient should be glad I got these before finishing theirs. :o ;) I've showed them off to family and friends in the last three hours. Have a gooder, I am! dpgratz
-
Wow..........Derick .........Love to see them, bring them to ITBA shoot in Sept. Greg those are niccccce!
DBar
-
Looks like they survived the shipping Derik. Put all I had in me into the making of those and it was a pleasure every
step of the way. Nothing better than crafting something for someone who you just know will appreciate it Happy to hear you like them brother. Didn't shoot them myself so let me know how they fly when you give em' a test run.
Greg
-
"Put all I had in me into the making of those" it shows Greg. You upped the bar for me. I got back to workin on mine tonight. Head start for the weekend. I had one going, but started another. Thank again and they are much appreciated. Scared to shoot, but not scared to copy. :o ;D derik
-
Thanks Pearly!!!! Arrow is AWESOME!!
sorry about bad pics
-
Glad it made its way safely. Hopefully it fits a bow you own and can be hunted with. Enjoy!
-
yep it does, its the right length for me to:D
-
Don't forget to touch those edges up a bit. A bastard file or stone should be enough to get you dangerous.
-
Ok i'll remember that, awesome job on the nock, that is the hardest part of arrow making for me
-
Two hacksaw blades taped together make a great string groove, then touch it up with sand paper.
-
i try that some time
-
Just got a package from Tattoo Dave. :D Beautiful arrow with great artwork on the point. Will try to post pics tommorrow.
Thank you Dave.
-
Heres Daves awsome artwork. Now i cant decide if i want to chance messing up the art by shooting it or not.

I came home to tube! I got my arrow from Scottski. Its cane, cap wrapped with a snake skin finished in sinew with a, I believe, bone point. Pretty cool arrow! My boy walked by and about tripped over his tongue! Thanks Scott! I ll take pics in a few days. Im heading out on a 3 day trek......deserted island style!
-
Hey guys; If anyone on here traded or got a package from old hippy, can you PM his full name and address, he doesn't check his PM's I guess. ::) :)
-
Whoo-hoo! Got home to find a PVC tube that came in the mail. Honestly, I had forgotten about the trade so didn't expect to see what I found inside the tube. It is a BEEautiful arrow hand crafted by Mr. Neal Young (Patches) marked "2013 PA Arrow Trade".
He included a letter describing how this arrow accompanied him on hunts in the Missouri River bottom, Truman Lake and in the bean and corn fields in northern Missouri. He explained how this was his first cresting job. He described the arrow as having a generic Zwickey head. With the "H" on the broadhead, I believe that it is a 1950-1960's vintage "Hi-Precision" broadhead. Neal, it looks great! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
A coupla pics below...
-
You are very welcome Pearl Drums I hope you like it and it will fly straight for you. Yes bone nock and point.
-
Some sweet sticks showing up on porch steps folks!
-
Matt, I am glad you like the arrow! I did not know about the H on the broadhead representing the brand Hi Precision. That is cool little bit of information to know.
Neal
-
Glad I got off my butt and checked my mail today! Good thing I did too ;D! Had a tube stuffed in my PO box from Brother Dan. Super nice work on your arrow by the way! Thank you very much! I'll start a "Show and Tell" thread so we can all post our "received arrows" so we don't have to jump from thread to thread viewing everyone's arrow............Art B
-
Good idea, Art.
-
My wife finally confessed where she hid the camera and then showed me how to use it. Here is the arrow I got from Oldhippy. He did a fine job on it and it will be in my quiver.
Swithcane with eastern two fletch and a rhyolite point.

Ozzy, I got an e-mail at work from my wife, she said I got a package the mail, Thank You. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow. Ed
-
WOW! Great arrow Ozzy: I got an awesome arrow from Ozzy, I did not get the pictures of it yet. it is a garden stake boo shaft with two fletch a stone point from Tracy, snake skin under the fletch. It got to go hunting in Washington lastnight, not that I really want to shoot this piece of art. I will try to talk someone at my house with a camera to snap a pic or two today. Thanks Ozzy. Ed
-
Glad you like it Ed hope it makes meat for you ;)
-
Received my trade arrow from R.Lusthaus, it's brilliant. The post office did everything in their power to destroy it but no dice (see the pic of the package). They had bent the shaft, and broken the tip of the beautiful bamboo head. just touched up the tip and pitch, and a little heat and she's good as new.
Ya make a tough arrow, sir. Tickled to add to my collection
rich
-
Rich, you're fortunate indeed. The PO and their damned triangle boxes just weren't made for archery gear. I've been fortunate over the years but the only 2 bows that ever arrived broken came in those worthless boxes.
-
So please tell me, cause the damaged stuff is getting old, how do you send stuff thru the mail? Put everything in PVC tubes?
Russ
-
It doesn't have to be PVC although that is most likely the safest. For some reason the post office seems to think anything in those triangular tubes can be pushed, piled, and jammed into any and all space available. They just aren't a very stable packing for breakable items. I also think they get jammed any which direction on conveyor belts while being sorted. Even a heavy cardboard rectangular box or round tube seem to hold up better. JMO
-
Got mine yesterday from Trapper Rob. Very nice. Will post pictures as soon as I figure out how to. Rob can you tell me about the arrow. Thanks again Rob. BDan
-
I just got back from a caribou trip this afternoon, and the Mrs. said that a tube came a week ago in the mail. I quickly opened a nice work of art from Dan (DGF). A real nice two fletched turkey feather with self nock, complete witha two bladed broad head. Thanks Dan, I am looking forward to shooting it in our deer season.
-
I'm glad you like it and hope it serves you well this season. :)
-Dan
-
Everyone received their arrow? Art
-
I havent received yet, but I havent been home in a week either. I also haven't shipped yet. My apologies to my recipient. I did let old hippie know in advance that I would be late, but now that our Oregon archery season ended I can get caught up.
-
Not yet, but won't be home 'til this Friday. Hopeful there's a package when I return.
-
Two things:
I received my trade arrow a while back from dmc, it is a nice fir shaft he made from some really old cabinets, and a nice steel broadhead he made (would not have guessed it was homemade!), and a hardwood self-nock.
I have not shipped a trade arrow to my recipient yet. I let ol hippie know I was going to be late, but I never thought it would be this late. I have many times thought of doing the easy thing, which would be to grab an arrow from my hunting quiver and send it along, but from the get go I had an arrow in mind that I wanted to make for my recipient. I want to stick to that and make it specifically for my guy. So I apologize for the extreme tardiness on this, but I will get this trade arrow made and shipped...
-
Hey guys, I want to thanks to all that participated in the swap. I think it went well with only one or two mishaps a couple of slackers and one fagout. I think that you guys and girl are some of the most talented people that I know. The arrows that I received are outstanding and the arrows posted on the forum were works of art. I guess that I will have to start making some more for next time if you all are open to another trade.
Oh yea I just about forgot, Scottski, I talked to Eric yesterday and he is busy at work and deer hunting, so if it is OK with you, I will send you an arrow that I made.
Thanks again everyone. Peace, Steve
-
Pretty sad this swap isn't 100% hippy. Its a damn arrow for heavens sake. A SINGLE ARROW!!!!!!!!!! It didn't have to be made at the time, just A SINGLE ARROW from your quiver. That's pathetic and inexcusable.
-
This was an excellent trade and I would like to participate again should you all decide.
And PD you are absolutely right, no excuse for screwing this one up.
-
I'm kinda with Pearlie, "sorry, busy I'm hunting and working???". Hey, where were your priorities when you signed up. Work, I can understand,, hunting??
Thanks, Steve, this was fun and I probably made a better arrow then I hunt with if I made it. But, I hunt with ArtB arrows :) Count me in next time.
-
. But, I hunt with ArtB arrows :)
No doubt just the straight ones, right Eddie? ;)
-
I'm in for sure. Had a great time and got to meet some fun folks out there! Already got my next one made so I can go to work and hunt and whatever else comes up...just need an address! ;) >:D ;D
-
. But, I hunt with ArtB arrows :)
No doubt just the straight ones, right Eddie? ;)
My hunting arrows are in the house in plastic cases. ;) The ones in the shop are a mixture of everything and carbons.
-
Sorry fellas for being a slacker and screwing this up ill get on that arrow right now just been very busy and a lot going on right now
-
Eric, better late than never. I just completed my trade arrow (now your trade arrow Eric Ward!). Shipping today. Somehow I am relieved that my recipient is also late :)
Hopefully, we are not banished to Eddie's little black book. If I am allowed to enter future trades, I will try not to sign-up for one right before my wife and I split-up and I find out my dad has stage IV prostate cancer. ??? ???:-\ :'( :'( ::)

:o Man that thing is a whopper! It looks like one of those little Louisville Sluggers with fletching. 8)dp
-
That'll deliver the knock out punch, sweet arrow Carson.
-
Wow Carson, nice stick. It does look like a Louieville Slugger!
-
Wow thank you Eric that is one sweet arrow. Don't want to shoot this one. Once again very nice arrow thank you so much. There are some real good people on here.I like that you guys allow me to be a part of it.
-
that is a cool arrow Carson, sorry to hear about the other stuff
