The picture should say it all.
-
Am I the only one seeing a flower pot or am I the only one not getting the joke?
-
ditto sleek
-
Something for the wife before you leave? If so classy move Iowabow.
.
-
The flowers are what I will buy for the wife but the pot I will put the dirt that I kill in so I can grow food hehe....I always freeze when the animal is in range. ;)
-
After the truckloads of fertilizer we've thrown at iowabow for burying arrows in the dirt, I would have thought this one was pretty obvious!
Iowabow and Stringman leave Friday for their momentous assault on Colorado elk. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am ate up with jealousy. My world is monochromatic green with envy.
-
I know the feeling. It was this week in 2006 and 2010 that I was gearing up to head to the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. I wish I was heading back out again.
Good luck on your hunt guys. Take lots of pics but most of all just enjoy the experience.
-
We intend to... whatever we bring home. The best part will be having good friends to share the experience with!!
-
Dang I cant fall asleep lol.
-
Huh, imagine that? You should be fast asleep with visions of sugar plu...uh, elk scat dancing in your head.
-
Good luck on your hunt!
This will be my second year chasing elk with a bow, maybe I will actually see an elk this year.
Of course, this year I can drive 15 minutes and be in elk country.

May the force be with you fellas.
-
Her's a biggggggggggggg help if you all are getting in the back country. Our first year we did'nt do this. But it's a must if you going to have to back out a elk or 2. RENT A PACK HORSE. Beats 2 or 3 trips packing out your elk. Exspecially if your miles and miles in the back country.
-
I am too cheap to rent stock. I figure as long as I can hump out an elk I will.
Besides, I have lost 70 lbs this year so I should be able to carry at least that much!

I like the way you think, Crooked!

Iowabow called me just before he arrived where he was meeting stringman and the others. He was humming like a violin string, if I didn't know better I would say he was "tweeking". yeah, all these guys are getting high. 11,000 ft of elevation elk hunting high.

Almost there gypsum
-
Wow
-
Good luck fellows and keep the pics coming! :)

Heading out on the 11 th, so leave a couple for me. I will be just north of Gypsum with OTC archery. God Luck guys, it is a great journey to enjoy.
-
Hey NC, you're heading into where we just left out of. Had a great trip and saw a few elk (emphasis on few.) thoroughly enjoyed most parts of the trip and the weather was amazing! John and I took loads of pics so we will be posting those soon. Hope you do better than we did, bro. Luck right back at ya!
-
Did everyone that went in also come out?
-
Yep, shore did. On our merry (but tired) way home now.

No tags were filled, but several birds and chipmunks were harmed in the making of this story. (John will have to fill you in on his part.)

Gypsum, as in Glenwood Canyon? I led the police on a chase through that canyon in 1977. Sheriff's and from three Counties and the State Troopers road blocked the Interstate. I didn't know a Triumph would corner and go that fast. ::) :D
Are you guys hunting the Flat Tops out of Meeker?
-
That was my first choice, but unit 24 is a limited draw unit so we went with OTC tags and hunted unit 25.
