Title: Wood Identification

I'm new to bowmaking and wood selection. Are there any sites that can help me brush up on my wood identification/selection?

Check with your state conservation service they may have everything you need. Here in Missouri the conservation service has some great books on how to identify trees, one on how to identify trees in the winter, loads of help. Or try your local library they may have materials to help you also. Auggie.

The Audubon Field Guide for your area should be quite helpful. Makes a great stocking stuffer! ;D   Pat
