My daughter was gifted with a natural ability to run. As a sixth grader she became one of the top runners on her Jr. high track and cross country teams. Last fall as a seventh grader she was the top cross country runner for her team in every meet. Instead of taking the winter off she decided to see how much she could improve. She asked for and received an exercise bike for Christmas. During the cold winter months she was riding several miles nearly every day. Now the spring track season has started and she is seeing the rewards from all her hard work. She is the top sprinter and distance runner on her team. She runs 4 races every meet. Her specialty is the 800 meter. I am so proud of the way she has challenged herself and the way she is trying to reach her full potential.
Here is a video of her latest 800 meter race. She is the runner in the first lane.

that's great Clint, she run's like an athlete, she's a goal oriented person for sure, hope she has a great year

Clint,
That sounds like my daughter last year. She is a gifted runner also. No training before last summer when track started but,as a seventh grader on the JR. High team she placed first on her team in every meet. she set course records in 5 of them for the team. She has kind of been slacking off thru the winter but she has started running again now that the weather has broken in prep for her fall meets already. It is really neat to see kids this young going after their goals. Congrats to your daughter, I hope she does well.

Wow! She sure can run. Looks like she had the field covered by a straight-a-way.
-
Talk about being out ahead of the field. The other runners didn't get to eat her dust because it had already settled by the time they got there. Congrats to your daughter and her proud Dad. ;) 8)

8) congratz Buddy! dp

Man Clint she had time for one more lap before 2 nd place got there you must be proud.
-
Just watched the video, Man she looks like she wasn't even trying. Very cool, Congratulate her, The hard work pays off.
-
Awesome run, she is way ahead of the other girls.
Was funny seeing the guy in the orange jacket at the finish line. I think he was holding a starter pistol in his right hand. Surprised they would still use them, if that's what it was.
-
Excellent, Clint! She has an efficient stride.
-
Good grief! She's at a whole different level! Walked away from the entire field right from the get go.
-
I bet you are proud as a peacock Clint! Tell her to keep with it, colleges give full rides for that.
Tracy
-
Thanks guys! We are hoping she sticks with it. A college scholarship would be great. She gets straight A's so were hoping that helps as well.
nclonghunter: That was a starter pistol. They still use them.

awesome race. That girl has drive.
-
Wow, she really smoked the competition! Good running young lady, very impressive. :)
-
Clint, do you guys have any away meets in Jennings county? If so, let me know when it is and I'll make sure to be there. I work most of the track events anyway.
Tracy
-
Tracy, she doesn't have any meets at Jennings County. She has one tonight at South Ripley near Versailles.

Congratulations to her and to you for being a supportive parent. Definitely a cool vid, Clint. I love the way you had to pan out during the 2nd lap just so you could the the person running 2nd! ;)
-
Wow. Nice work young lady. Clint, you have a right to be very proud of that.
-
Awesome! Man, I know you are proud of her. ;)
-
That's wonderful Clint!! It's a special pride to see your kiddos excel. Not everyone can run fast. Congrats brother!!

That's great! :)

Very smooth runner. Half the apparent effort of the other girls and twice the speed.
I am an 800 specialist myself and can really appreciate her effort.
-
8) cool buddy!!!! I'd like to see dad keep up with her...
Maybe on a bike lol
-
Congratulations, Clint! On a bike?? ::) She'd be gone before Dad got on the bike. ;)
-
The only way I keep up with her is in my truck. When she runs on our road I drive out and keep an eye on her. To many crazies in this world to let her run alone on secluded country roads.
She had another meet tonight. She won the 800 race again by a good 60-70 yards.
-
I just watched the video. She SMOKED them Secretariat style!! Awesomeness.
-
Congrats, that kids got wheels! 8)
-
Well if you bring that young lady to a shoot at Scottburg I'll know to to say out of her way. She'd run right over an old fat guy like me! She is quite the runner!
-
She does want to come to one of the shoots with me.
-
By all means be very proud! She has a good head on her shoulders, to be able to focus on her goals. That will benefit her immeasurably in her future. Yes in deed, be a proud Papa! :) ;)

Good Lord! To carry that pace and still have enough left for that last kick is impressive! You have much to be proud of Clint! Josh

Awesome!

Congrats Clint.

I thought for sure she was going to lap somebody....wow, congratulations ;)
