money shot, just a simple d bow and nothing fancy, shoots pretty dang hard for 28#, I cut it in and made a cork rest to make it a little more user freindlly hope ya'll like it I went with purpleheart as it's her favorite color 8 strand d97 double served with bunny silencers, bub(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/purpleheart/101_4504_zps26636621.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/purpleheart/101_4504_zps26636621.jpg.html)

Good job on the purple heart. Very nice contrats between the belly and backing.
-
thanks everyone, sometimes these straight forward d bows are the best builds, don't over complicate things and just make them bend
-
That looks great bub!!!
-
Thanks soy, ain't seen you around much
-
Pretty bow! Wheres that yew?
-
I'm working on that yew, I don't need it finished for a while and ill build them both at the same time
-
Nice!
Is there any trick to keep the vibrant color?
I have seen some older ones and they are a bit dull.
-
I was told by warpath to use a 50-50 mix of boiled linseed oil and denatured alcohol one coat, wait 24 hrs and do another coat 50-50 mix, wait 24 hrs and use a coat of straight boiled linseed oil, after that dried I used 2 coats of tung oil then paste wax two or three coats
-
Ah,good to know if i get my hands on some purplehart at some point.
Thanks!
