Title: King's deer
Post by: Pappy on November 06, 2014, 07:28:10 am
Del the Cat gifted me a bow at the Classic last year, I told him I would try and take a deer with it,it that be splendid to take one of the King's deer with a true English longbow[his words] It didn't work out as well as I would have liked but did work out,I hit him a little back,so left him over night, he went about 200 yards, Found him early next morning but the youts had taken there share, did recover some back strap and 1 shoulder so not a total waste. :) Thanks Del the bow will do what it is supposed to,just need to tighten up on my part a bit. :) :)

Congrats Del & Pappy, cool to see a bow from the U.K. make it's way to Tenn. and take a deer. Maybe if Del could show this post to the Queen she might see fit to let him do the same and have a go at hunting over there. I bet she has some land full of game. ;D ;D

I had a chance to shoot a few arrows thru that bow and fell in love with it instantly.  Nice to see it doing what it was meant to do.

Good work, Del.

Good work, Pappy.

Ya they are getting thick around our place, seen more this year than ever before. We are putting some plans in place to deal with them when deer season is over and pelts are full and thick. ;) :) :)  It has gotten so bad that you take a chance even leaving one for a few hours much less over night. :) May have to start shooting them in the Head. ;) :) :) :)

I heard them in the pasture behind me the morning I shot the doe. That's why I dragged her all the way to the creek bottom, Didn't want to lose my first.
