Title: Brute de Forge and Wooden Sheath
Post by: 4est Trekker on October 01, 2015, 11:46:25 am
Good day, all!  Thought I'd post a few pictures of a recent brute de forge I recently finished up.  Here's some specs:

- 1080 steel forged from 1" x 0.187" bar stock
- 6 5/8" oal
- 2 1/2" blade
- 1/8" at the ricasso with distal taper towards the tip and tang
- Recessed rosewood scales with hammered copper washers and brass pins
- Laminated rosewood and padauk wooden sheath with drain hole, shock cord keeper, and copper stud
- Vertical/horizontal combo belt plate, allowing the blade to be carried in any 90 degree orientation

I was thinking of you today.  Panic set in and continued to build until I was in the corner muttering to myself and talking to a moccasin.  You see, deer season starts here in a month and I have been looking for the neck knife you made for me.  I can't find it.  Not sure I can hunt deer without it anymore, it's that much a part of my woods gear!

If I can't find it soon, I am gonna send you a private message talking about a new one!
