If y'all were at the Tenn. Classic this year you probably saw those cool looking, bow blanks that James Parker was selling. The ones that when you held them in the light they would change colors. Well I had to have one. When I bought the blank, it had a lot of orange and yellow in it. After I got it home and finished it off with Poly the color changed to an iridescent, dark purple, green and black.
The bow is a R/D, Bamboo Backed Ipe, Zebrawood tip overlays, 66" nock to nock. It is shooting 54# @ 28" and I finished off the arrow rest with a wine bottle cork and leather with the handle wrapped with some gold leaf, wide ribbon from the Fabric Store.

Nice looking bow and certainly a unique finish......but I like it.
-
I remember those cool blanks that James was selling. You did a nice job finishing her up. That color is incredible.
Your pineapple is getting bigger each time I see it.
-
Oh man, that's some cool color! Love that bow!
-
Thanks everyone. I forgot to add that James put a Thunderbird finish on the paint, then I put 14 coats of Poly on wet sanding with 1200 grit the last 4 coats. I'll have to cover up the mirror shine if I hunt with it.
-
Dude... you got a pineapple in your garden :o ::)
Del
(Oh yeah, an' the bow's ok I s'pose ;) )
-
Yes that's definitely purple all right. Very nice. Looks a bit like the RD bows that were being made 10~15 years ago
-
Now that's perty! That ought to put some piggy in the pan! I hope you can eat it... ??? Josh
-
That's a nice looking bow Mulllet. Makes me regret not picking up one of his blanks.
-
Thanks, Del. I have pineapples everywhere. When you cut the top off just throw it on the ground,,,, and live in a Sub-Tropical climate.
Marc, yea, I made it longer. I wanted one that was more stable and fun to shoot. I have enough really short bows. I haven't seen anybody in the last 10-15 years painting Bamboo with auto paints and clear coating like that, the reason I bought it and it was cheap.
You were too busy selling and trading your Staves, Clint. I know he is still making them.
Come on down Josh, You can have my hog meat.

That's one pretty bow and I love that profile. Nice!
-
If i can get a load that way I'll take you up on that Eddie! I haven't managed to get any closer than Jacksonville in the last 2 or 3 years. I'm gonna have to have a talk with my dispatcher I guess! Josh

Cool eddie....yeah he brought some pretty cool blanks n bows this past classic. Just wish that dirty rascal would poke his nose more in here online.
-
Very nice work Eddie, I heard he had some cool stuff, I just couldn't get the time to go look. ??? Looks like a critter killer to me if you can get the shine off. ;)

That's nice, really like the finish!
-
Real cool finish, it reminds me of the old style Japanese lacquer paint jobs on boxes and tables. Nice stuff.
-
Woah - now that's a color! 8)
I beg all the pigs get blind and you could shoot them easily ;D
Good work Eddie

You guys are funny. I bought camo limb sleeves from one of the Vendors at the Classic to hunt with the pretty ones.
Forest Farmer, I've actually thought about a high gloss, Lacquer bow after doing this one.
-
Thats a purdy looking rig there and a stone cold killer too I'd bet. I saw all those beautiful blanks at the classic, very nice spread he had on those tables. Nice work you did on your bow Eddie.
-
Beautiful bow. I am not a fan of purple usually... but that is stunning. I like it.
-
Thats a fancy looking bow from a scruffy ole cuss like you eddie!! Nice job. Those were some nice blanks. I was tempted but didnt pull the trigger.aybe next year.
-
Thanks, Fellers. I'm not a big fan of purple either, but have a good friend that likes any bow with purple that like to trade. I'll be hunting his farm at the end of the month, heh, heh.
I needed a fancy bow and I'm wanting another one of those blanks.

That's nice Eddie. Job well done sir.
