Title: Any experience with this bandsaw
Post by: AndyTurner on November 05, 2015, 09:50:58 am
Hi I'm new to bow making but I would like a bandsaw.
I found this one but I can't find any reviews - good/bad.
Has anyone used one?

Thanks,
Andy

I don't have any direct experience, but the cost would make me shy away. 1/2 hp motor isn't terrible.

It looks V similar the my BAS315
which cost me about £100 second hand of that well known auction site (plus £20 to get it delivered). It needed a couple of parts replaced (no prob with spares).
It does the job pretty well with a decent blade and will even rip down 6" Yew logs (with some care), like any tool it needs some maintenance and adjustment. Depends what you want it for.
I don't cut laminations with it, (something bigger or maybe a wider blade would help for that).
It's been a good work horse and a great investment. Even at full price it would have been good.

PS are you in the UK?
