Been huntin' hard since early Oct.,but have'nt had a shot opportunity ,til this morning. Steady 20 mph winds with gust to 35 had my little ERC I was sitting in on a good 3' sway. I got had gotten winded after first light, and coupled with the wind,I nearly got down from the stand I had just hung the evening before. I decided to stay a little longer, when this buck,(in my home county I can take one buck with an inside spread of at least 13",and one with at least one un-branched antler ),came in and stopped at about 13 yards, slightly quartered away. I shot him through both lungs and he made it about 55 yards. I took him with the same osage bow I was using last season.53# @ 26",with a 580 gr. switchcane arrow topped with a bandsaw trade point. God Bless

Nice job on that one. Im in northeast TX and I blamed not seeing anything this morning on the wind but you just blew that theory out of the water! LOL

Man was it blowin'. I've seen some good deer in high winds over the years though. God Bless

Good shooting there Pete, way to stick it out in the wind and collect the venison. Congrats on getting that fine buck.

Nice shot and deer.Put your time in and there it is.That wind can be a bugger most times.

Good job Pete. The weather looks as mild where you live as it is here. However, it is finally getting cold. Good shot brother.

Congratulation. I was hunting last week under windy conditions such as you describe and saw 10 bucks that day. If I wasnt on an out of state trip I probably would have stayed home. Shows what I know.
