Presenting "Mitle" My new selfbow. She is 66" ntn, 68" ttt and draws 60# at 28". Whoa this one took me a while! I started it back in January and just got it finished last week! Slow and steady got it done though. I was given the stave by DC, and he gave me lots of help getting it straightened out. Thanks Don! It had a twist in it that I didn't know how to deal with, but we got it out. Then three different times with a heat gun to line up the tips. I am really happy with how it turned out, the bow shoots really nice, no hand shock or stack. The slim grip works well for me. There is some cracks in the heartwood that I am not too concerned with, they haven't changed after a hundred shots or so. The tips and arrow rest are antler. I did two coats of shellac and three of tung oil that I will add more to before our damp hunting season here on the wet coast chasing blacktails. I am building a dozen sitka spruce arrows from the shafts I am selling through Beaufort Traditional, and they seem to be paired up well. Looking forward to hunting time with this combo! Thanks for looking, I love seeing all the cool stuff the PA community is doing. This bow is no show piece but it will help me get some groceries for sure!

Thanks everyone! I shoot more with her on my back than without. I know that I can shoot well with a pack in, thats for sure. I is pretty nice way to go Wizardgoat!
-
That is a really cool and authentic looking bow :)
-
Way to get it done!
Little one has an awesome spectator seat there.
-
Does she whisper in your ear,"Up and to the left, Dad! No, left!." ;D ;D
-
Thats a great looking bow. Good luck with it this fall on your blacktail hunts.
-
Very nice! Way to stay with her, looks like a good shooter !
-
nice stik, tiller looks great. bet it's smooth.

I don't know how hunting season is going to go. Either I have to start practicing without that little angel whispering in my ear or teach her to be quiet so we don't scare away all the deer! Although she does make really good raven calls:)

Yew sure makes a pretty bow! I thought I started my kids early on the stump shooting ...you took it to a whole new level! Josh
