Title: New wood
Post by: Bone pile on January 17, 2017, 09:20:54 am
They had to remove an American Mahogany at work last week. I rescued a few of the bigger straighter limbs. It's heavy but hopefully it will cure out nice. I'll get the stump when they cut it out too.

I'm not familiar with an American Mahogany, but there may be one. Like Mullet said, it looks a lot like chinaberry. I'm not sure what uses china berry is good for, but it is pretty stuff.

Rog', if you are going to try and make a bow from that we can get straighter stuff.  It needs to be wide and longer. Look up Eastern Mahogany and see if it's the same.

It is eastern mahogany an arborist had to come out and identify plus the seed pods gave it away
