I'm planning my first horn bow, and I fell in love with the look of sheep horn from loefflerchuck and wizardgoat's sinew/horn bows. Looking at making something like a Manchu bow, but white buffalo horn is stupid expensive and sheep is more reasonably priced. I'm just at the planning stage now, so any advice will directly influence what I do.

Are you trying to avoid black? Because water buffalo horn is cheap........relative to the others you mentioned.

Mouflon sheep is cheaper than bighorn. It is also thinner so does not work well for a horn sinew only bow. It would be a great option on a true composite, but buffalo is still cheaper.
